The judge is sick of you repeat offenders!   You are sentenced to an experimental facility on a deserted island officially called Stryker Island.   Nicknamed "Insanity Island" by former inmates.
Welcome to paradise, inmate!
A Hard Time 3D remaster of the classic MDickie game Hard Time 3D.  Here's what we smuggled in!
  • High detailed texture overhaul - Details like outside items are rusted and walls and floors are dirty.
  • Replaced many sounds.  Added a few.
  • Prisoners are now called inmates,  wardens are now called Correctional Officers.
  • Removed the goofy names like Deep Throat. Added in 22 real serial killer names.  Due to the randomization of appearance,  you could get a Mexican Jeffrey Dahmer for example!    A Separate version is available that contains the original character names for those that want to relive the original game but enjoy the new features.  "Legacy Edition."
  • Locked at fullscreen 1920x1080 resolution.  35 FPS (bumped from 30).  Windows 10/11 compatibility by DGVoodoo.  Yes,  it's locked at 1080.   it's a 2006, 32bit game.  We're lucky to get this far!
  • Changed the Asian race in the game to Mexican to better reflect the American prison.
  • On-screen UI update.    Moved the meters, days left, and clock to the bottom of screen, added nice backgrounds so the UI is easier to read and adds some polish.   Top of the screen is open for streamers to use.
  • The name of the character speaking to you now appears above the text so you know who's calling you names!
  • The name of the item you are holding now appears in the UI so you know what you're beating him with!
  • Added 100 first and 100 last names for diversity in characters.   There's many more names for the game to choose from now.   The Legacy Edition has the original names without any new ones.
  • Increased skill requirements for jobs.   65-Mess Hall,  75-Library,  80 to use a computer,  and 90 to make medicine!   The workshop now requires 75 strength AND 75 intellect.  The character will hint at this when you sit down.   If you want to make your own weapons in here,   you've gotta work harder for it.
  • Agility is now called "speed" to better reflect what the attribute actually does.    Intelligence is now called "intellect" to shorten it for UI use.
  • Rewrote much of the text to reflect that this is an experimental correctional facility and added swearing to better reflect prison life.
  • Power outages replace terrorist attacks.  It's an old building.   The outages add immersion and a little realism to an unrealistic prison.    The "Legacy Edition" contains the terrorist attacks (now called bomb threats).
  • More and updated crimes with slightly longer sentences (upwards of 75 days).  You are a repeat offender after all.
  • Real gangs,  colors, tattoos,  well,  except for Gangreen who is a fictional gang that started in Stryker.
Nazi Low Riders, The Bloods, La Eme (Mexican Mafia), BGF (Black Guerilla Family, The Crips, Gangreen Gang (Fictional)
  • Renamed rooms to better reflect American prisons...   Stryker now has a mess hall,  library,  yard,  and infirmary.
  • Added a prison font to the speech text.
  • Best played with a game controller.  "Start" on an XBox controller now pauses the game.
