You know what would have been really cool? Correcting the original mistake and actually using the real 1991 Doritos logo as opposed to the wrong 1996 Doritos logo.
Curious question — your modded .POD files are 64-bit? Does it matter if the files are for the 32-bit or 64-bit install, or will that matter (and the files also need to be renamed as well)?
Thank you for this mod. I think, they did a good enough job with the Doritos re-branding, but the Ecto-1 looking sad like that always bugged me. Awesome seeing stuff being uploaded for this game.
I've tried modding some stuff for this game as well, but didn't manage to import the DDS files as TEX and just gave up after some time. Is there any tool out there that allows to edit the actual textures (re-import of DDS files)?
Right? It especially sucks because the original devs fought hard for the Ecto's licensing, specifically because they wanted to make it as authentic to the world of the movies as possible, then the new port by the other studio just kind of ignores that enthusiasm.
I can sort of understand removing the Doritos licensed content, but the Ecto-1?
Yeah, they could've just got rid of the logo, or maybe changed it just enough to not get sued, but they ruined the entire front end for me with these changes - It doesn't help that I have a model of the car on my shelf right besides me. This will be my first play through since the PS3, and looking at... whatever that was, would've really bothered me - Thanks for restoring it! :)

I agree, it'd be a neat idea, but the mod's goal was primarily to restore content removed at release and preserve the game as it was at launch.
It'd be an interesting idea for someone doing a "real life advertisements" mod or something though.
