Vortex Support added: X4: Foundations, Pathfinder: Kingmaker, Starsector, 7 Days to Die

  • Comment
Good news for our X4: Foundations, Pathfinder: Kingmaker, Starsector, and 7 Days to Die communities!

Thanks to alexparlett6d306e73746572LazyWizard, as well as nelson3219, who developed the respective extensions, our mod manager Vortex (which is currently in beta) now supports all four of those games (version 0.17.0 and newer).

If you are unsure about what a mod manager does, let me put it this way: Vortex gives you the ability to install and uninstall mods easily, keep track of managed mods, and stay organised by keeping your game directory clean. The idea is to help you spend less time worrying about mod files, so you have more time to enjoy your modded game.

You might have noticed the new Vortex download button on several mod pages which allows you to download mods through Vortex (if you have Vortex installed and configured):

If you would like to try out Vortex, or if you have any questions, feel free to view our Vortex documentation, or ask your questions in our Vortex Support Forums directly.

Happy modding!

Vortex hasnt died off yet? i gave up on it back in june. its essientally a more broken and unstable version of NMM. i like nexus, but damn you guys cant make a mod manager if your life depended on it lol

I don't know what version of Vortex you tried, but clearly not the one I and many others have been using very successfully for a long while now.

And NMM not being broken?  Clearly you've never actually used it.

FNIS DOES NOT NEED THE CORE FILE AFTER ALL THE ADDONS.

FNIS core does not need to be automatically defaulted to after the XXL data.

Stop updating the Vortex so that FNIS Core has to be after FNIS_XXL. or FNIS ++++.

Anything that is not /fullstop/FNIS/fullstop/ does not need to be before FNIS. NOTHING.

Everytime I update Vortex it keeps doing this Rules says FNIS is before FNIS XXL and FNIS XXL is before FNIs. I delete the back track and it comes back the very next time i start the program.

Also, tell those idiots at Loot that at the end and After EVERYTHING ELSE are valid list position options. We shouldn't have to set a Mod category at the very end for the mods that MUST LOAD LAST, such as Amazing Follower Tweaks and Alternate Start - Live Another Life. If Any file loads after these two that doesn't patch a previous file, it screws the whole order.

No and until it does not fill your Skyrim data folder with files and does not delete all of them it will never be as good

I love Vortex... big improvement on the old mod manager.
    I have one suggestion;
When I update a mod, I get a message saying there is a conflict with the previous version,
It would be useful if the (a) download date was stated when I hit "More info"
or (B) the version numbers were reinstated and clearly visible so I know which version to delete without guessing.
As it stands, it is a little confusing to me.
