About this mod

This mod attempts to use the Frostbite engine's physically based sky rendering to simulate the sky on Mars.

Permissions and credits

This mod attempts to use the Frostbite engine's physically based sky rendering to simulate the sky on Mars. If you have been to Mars and can comment on the accuracy of this mod we'd be very excited to hear from you!

This is only a visual mod; uninhabitable environment and low gravity are not included.

Changes include:
  • Altered Rayleigh scattering coefficients and ozone percentage as a rough guess as to what Mars's atmosphere might be like
  • Enabled Mie scattering in order to emulate Mars's "blue sunset" (may cause issues where sun glare permeates through objects)
  • Adjusted fog color
  • Reduced sun intensity
  • Reduced blue-ness of stars

Mirror's Edge Catalyst mods are installed using Frosty Mod Manager. If you need help installing mods, please watch my tutorial.

If you own the game on any platform other than Origin (e.g EA Desktop, Steam or the Epic Games Store) you will need to use the 1.0.6 version (or later) of Frosty Mod Manager and set up platform launching in the settings to launch the game.

Please join the Frosty Discord server if you need additional help.

If you have any issues with the mod, please check the bug reports and create a report if your issue is not listed. I will do my best to address the issue, though I can't guarantee that I will be able to fix it. I usually check for new issues once a day, so please be patient and check back regularly if I haven't replied to you yet.

This mod is incompatible with other mods that affect the ve_tod_XXXX files, for example Better Skies.

This mod has only been tested in free-roam and may not work correctly during missions.
