Game Optimization for Performance or Quality
Overview:
This mod provides 3 carefully designed Engine.ini presets for optimizing performance in Mindseye, especially for players using mid- to high-end GPUs. The goal is to improve framerate, reduce stutters, and increase overall playability while keeping the game visually stable based on your hardware tier and personal preference.
Presets Included:
1. Performance Preset
- Depth of Field (DOF): Enabled
- Distortion: Enabled
- Frame Rate: Unlocked
- Nanite and Lumen: Lower Quality
- Recommended In-Game Settings: Set all to **Low**
- Upscaler Recommendation: FSR or DLSS Performance mode
- Frame Generation: Enabled (Not recommended on all systems, may introduce ghosting or instability)
- Target Hardware: RTX 2060*, RX 6600 XT* and above (Tested on RTX 2080 Super)
2. Quality Preset **Only VRAM Above 8GB**
- Depth of Field (DOF): Disabled
- Distortion: Disabled
- Frame Rate: Locked to 30 FPS or Unlocked Version
- Higher Visual Quality
- Recommended In-Game Settings: Set to **High** or **Epic**, but keep:
• Reflections = Low
• Global Illumination = Low
• Post Processing = Low
- Upscaler Recommendation: FSR NativeAA or DLAA
- Frame Generation: Disabled
- Target Hardware: RTX 3080 Ti*, RX 6800 XT* and above (Tested on RX 9070 XT Locked to 30FPS)
3. Ultra Performance Preset
- Shadows: Mostly Disabled (Lowest Quality)
- Lighting: Lumen, AO, SSGI, and Reflections Disabled
- View Distance: Heavily Reduced (NPCs/vehicles pop in close)
- Texture Streaming: Aggressive (low memory usage)
- Nanite Tweaks: Faster loading, lower detail at distance
- Recommended In-Game Settings: Set all to **Low**
- Frame Generation: Enabled (helps performance, but unstable on some systems)
- Target Hardware: RTX 3050*, GTX 1660 Ti*, or similar (Tested on RTX 3050 Laptop)
***Note: Tested on RTX 2080 Super, but saw greater jump in performance on RTX 3050.***
Recommendations by Resolution:
- 1080p: Use Performance Preset, set all in-game settings to Low
- 1440p: Use any preset, set in-game settings to Medium or High (as your GPU allows)
- 4K: Use Quality Preset, set in-game to High or Epic with the three settings above set to Low
Installation Instructions:
1. Navigate to your configuration directory:
Windows:
%LocalAppData%\MindsEye\Saved\Config\Windows\
*Tip:* Press "Windows Key + R", type 'appdata', go to 'Local', then open 'MindsEye'.
2. Backup your current 'Engine.ini' file if needed.
3. Copy the desired 'Engine.ini' from either:
- 'Performance\Engine.ini' (Updated)
- 'Quality - 30FPS\Engine.ini' (Stable)
- 'Quality - Unlocked\Engine.ini' *Untested*
- 'Ultra Performance\Engine.ini' (New)
4. Paste and replace the existing 'Engine.ini' in the directory above.
5. Launch the game and adjust in-game settings as recommended.
Uninstall Instruction:
1. Navigate to your configuration directory:

Notes:

- Enabling Frame Generation on GPUs without proper support, as it may cause severe instability or artifacts.
