This mod aims to recolor the gear each fatigues have to better fit the environment they are effective in.

The mod got rebuilt on a newer, safer and more effective method. V4 contains all edited camos (no more seperate files to flood up your SnakeBite mod list) and now let's you choose which ones you wish to install or keep (you have to do this manually) and all can be quickly edited as all textures are included!

How to select and / or edit the camos?

Each camo has a corresponding .fv2 file which the mod overwrites. This .fv2 file is responsible for providing the path from which the textures are loaded. All of these .fv2 files were hex-edited so they point to a custom directory where the custom files are stored. The textures can be found in "\Assets\daften\camorecolors".

"sna0_main1_def_cXX_bsm" files are used by DEFAULT and SCARF camos.
"sna8_main0_def_cXX_bsm" files are used by NAKED camos.

IMPORTANT: To replace a camo you must replace the texture files with your own edited textures. You must use the same name and same path otherwise the .fv2 files will not be able to load the files.

To edit a texture convert it to .dds with FtexTool and use GIMP or Photoshop with the nVidia plug-in to open. Alternatively you can download the templates which were used to make the CamoRecolors mod. Once you made your edit save the file as .dds then run FtexTool on them once again to convert it back to .ftex and .ftexs files. After that you can safely delete the .dds file.

To goal of this mod is to change the different fatigues' gear to better fit the environment. For example the default Olive Drab fatigues have black straps, shoulder pads and boots which in real life lowers the effectiveness of a camouflage. This mod changes the colors around the patterns and colors the fatigues has.

This is an initial release and a test so all feedback is appreciated. Please always back up your files before you proceed to install a mod!
I failed to do the retexturing by using the .fmdl editing method so this mod replaces .ptfxs files in chunk_0
Only the vanilla, preorder and non single color FOB camos are done and there is no support yet for the Naked options.
I want to thank the MGSV Modding Discord and the modding community for helping me with my questions and providing examples and tutorials on how to make mods.

I used dustinpeek's camo templates to do the edits. I further modified it and will upload the template once I got (and ask in the first place for) the permission.

UPDATE:

All of the base game, preorder and the FOB camos that have patterns are now supported with all variants! NAKED, NORMAL, SCARF
I'll gradually go trough the FOB ones and the DLC camos too!
