About this mod

Does it hurt your soul to have Hideo, Ziang Tan or *weeps* Silent Basilisk in your crew after you've spent so many hours grinding for S++ staff?
Wouldn't it be great if you could remove/dismiss them? Yeah, well sorry I couldn't work out how to do that.

What I found I could do however is make their stats worthy of keeping around! :D

I will probably need to make you a bunch of different versions of this thing sadly >.<
The one file I need to modify for this mod is already being modified by multiple other staff-skill-related mods, and frankly I would recommend using a version of this mod that is compatible with theirs. Thing is in this case our mods are just overwriting the one file, so it's a full merge in order to provide compatibility.

I will explain a bit. In Assets\tpp\motherbase\script\ you will find MbmCommonSetting.lua.

This file will be overwritten by any mod that touches skills/troop levels.

The short of it is: If you already have a mod installed that adjusts any characters levels to be more relevant, it will be modifying MbmCommonSetting.lua, and that would be overwritten by installing this mod. Can't be helped. Snakebite should tell you as much if you try. Same goes the other way around, if you installed this mod first, then installed another mod that does stuff to skill levels, it would overwrite this mod.

So quick story, I went through the process of fixing Hideo, Ziang and Silent's skill levels while I had another mod loaded that changes my other staff skill levels.
I went to upload my mod and when I got to filling out the Credits section I realised.. I technically can't upload that and call it my mod- it's not exclusively my work..

So I reverted my game files to vanilla, re-modded the file again, re-packaged the mod and spent 2hrs writing and rewriting all this stuff..

Why do I tell u all this? Well I figured it's pointless for you to install a mod that fixes these 3 characters at long last, but necessarily reverts any character skill changes made by any other mods you have, so I wanted to publish the "x compatible" version as the base/one and only version. But I can't do that.. It would be technically copying someone else's work, changing it a bit and calling it mine.. because our mods consist of only one file.. there's literally no way to run both mods without merging their changes together! >.<

So! Please only download the base version of this mod if you literally just want those 3 characters pumped up and that's the only change you want made to your staff via mods.

If you wanted to run a sweet mod such as Skilled Key Staff (Compatible with S plus plus Soldier Mod) for example, that's great! Because that is one of the mods I was running myself when I first created this mod. I in fact unintentionally created that compatible version first lol

The Skilled Key Staff (Compatible with S plus plus Soldier Mod) Compatible version of this mod will be available in the Downloads section, and is the recommended download really. It's a good balanced version imo.

Installing any version will still overwrite any other mod that edited MbmCommonSetting.lua and vice versa, but you will at least have the quality of life improvements Skilled Key Staff mod has to offer if you choose to install that version.
For more specific detail on what the Skilled Key Staff Compatible version consists of, check out the excellent Skilled Key Staff Mod

Like I said at the top, if you are running some other particular version of a mod that Snakebite informs you is conflicting with this mod, and you don't like the Skilled Key Staff Compatible version provided, I would have to create another version of the mod to be compatible with your mod of choice. For the moment it's just the previously mentioned versions that are available- I hope this is to your liking. I welcome any feedback and opinions at any rate :)

From what I can tell, Infinite Heaven is actually compatible with this mod right out of the gate though, which kinda blows my mind they left a file untouched :D

One additional note is I added the "with Snake" version, but I now remember because it modifies the stats of your player character, that might be an issue in multiplayer scenarios like having your base invaded, so be warned I never used the "with Snake" version myself and I don't know if it's fine to use. Just be aware if you're gonna use that version, else use "no Snake" version which was always fine for me.

Enjoy!
