About this mod

This mod changes PPCs to look good on Low or Medium particles setting - with no impact on performance!

This mod changes all PPCs to look as good on Low Particles setting as they do on High Particles setting.

Why this mod exists?
  • By default PPCs on Particles setting set to Low look a lot thinner and overall not as good as PPCs on Particles setting set to High or higher.
  • Setting Particles setting to High is not advised, because it enables a lot of different particle effects, mainly missiles smoke, which eat a lot of FPS. So if you want to play with beautiful PPCs you have to lose a lot of performance.
  • This mod fixes this issue entirely by enabling beautiful particles to render on Low Particles setting or higher only for PPCs, so there's no impact on performance and you don't lose FPS!

Installation:
  • Go to the Files tab and download the latest version of the mod.
  • Move ZZ_Beautiful_PPCs.pak file from downloaded archive into MechWarrior Online\Game\ folder.

Updating the mod:
If there's gonna be a patch with new weapons or patch that changes weapon particle effects - I'll update this mod in a few days after the patch. If you don't update, game won't crash, but you won't see any particle effects that were added in that patch.

  • Go to the Files tab and download the latest version of the mod.
  • Take ZZ_Beautiful_PPCs.pak file from downloaded archive and put it into MechWarrior Online\Game\ folder, rewriting the old file that was there.
Uninstallation:
  • Delete ZZ_Beautiful_PPCs.pak from MechWarrior Online\Game folder.
