I have all three of your Infantry mods plus the Enable Infantry and the recommended Inferno infantry, but these blokes are not appearing in my game. I use LOTS for my load order and entered their respective load order # based on their mod.json file: Enable infantry - 0, Inferno infantry - 0, Infantry No Expense/No Damage/No Color - 30.
Is there something I might have missed? Any and all assistance will be appreciated.
Is it possible to remove to remove the outline and overhead icon with this mod so we don't have to use 1000 mods for each detail removed or added for infantry. I'll be glad when people stop making faceted mods for individual adds/removes and start making comprehensive mods. Its Infantry, make all the changes, please. LOL
I get that some people want certain things and not others...but no one wants the outline or the overhead icon. One would hope anyway.
That would be ideal, which is why I placed quite a few features in this mod already, but for the icons and outline there may be people that would want keep one or both of those effects if they are using the inferno infantry mod. It aso helps with compatibility with future mods that others might make in the future.
If you happen to make the version I mentioned I would be grateful. No worries or hurries. I use Inferno Infantry as well and would really only like to have to add one other mod since that creator didn't add no outline and icon removal(how nice that would have been). I figure, less mods is better for gameplay and it is, so I'm always looking for mods that are more comprehensive.
Brilliant mod, thank you. Adds a lot to the immersion and sense of scale.
Would it be possible to add a blood cloud and sound effect when the infantry die from your weapons? (It was great in MechWarrior 3 when the little guys literally explode into a blood cloud in MechWarrior 3 while screaming "aargh!")
I might be able to add that as an effect to the Infantry_No_Color mod. I wouldn't add it to this mod as the files that would allow that change would make it incompatible with that mod. I will take a look at possivly adding this to the Infantry_No_Color in the future.
Its nice to know that infantry hasn't been forgotten, even if they're simply just decorations in this game. Any possibilities of changing the weapon projectiles of the infantry? I know Inferno's infantry gives some of em inferno missiles, but what about the ones using their rifles? Could change their projectiles to a small laser or more bullet tracers flying everywhere for a more spectacle battlfield. Speaking of which, can Infantry shoot at each other depending on which faction they are, or do they only focus on Mechs? Don't even need to be able to kill each other, but just give the illusion that there are firefights occurring amongst them.
Yeah, I like seeing them running around, it reminds me of the little sprite civilians in MechWarrior 4. The infantry AI is only configured to shoot at Mechs, and the game doesn't have any logic in place that allows them to be targeted by any AI. The infantry traces animate at specific angles, I think the creator of the inferno infantry mod had to create custom animation and targeting logic to override that for the SRMs. Changing the projectile animation/type and targeting logic could take some time. Those would be some great additional mods, but sadly I do not have enough time/experience to make them.
