    Update v1-19a is live.

    •  Added pause menu interactions in VR with mouse!
    •  Fix for paperdoll being cut from the side
    •  Fix for markers disappearing from the map/radar. 

    NOTES ON PAUSE MENU! PLEASE READ! 
    While in VR, pause menu functionality is limited (for now!). You should NOT access Options, Groups, Social, Load, Save. Basically sections that send you to a different screen. Resume, restart, abort, exit work.
    Also the game does NOT STOP while in Pause menu in VR. And it does not unlock hardware mouse cursor so alt tabbing is not an option. 
    Exiting VR with Alt+num5 brings back the usual flat pause menu and properly releases the cursor. 
    It's an experimental feature mainly for  restarting convenience and research purposes as the way it's made will be reused for later full game VR-ing.

      Anyone know how come sometimes when I launch the game and get into cockpit all of the Steam overlay/menu is showing in my HUD? I have to keep exiting and restarting till eventually it does not any more?

      Also seems my graphics settigns in game keep changing on their own. Launched the game this morning and they were all set on maximum.

    anybody know if there's some kind of workaround to get in-world markers (nav points, objective target buildings etc) to appear? or whether this is a known issue? love the mod but i do a lot of raid missions and it's really hard to figure out what specific building im supposed to be trashing lol

      Currently there is no workaround. I'm planning on doing it but it's not a priority. For now I think you can use your compass on the top of the hud to see the direction towards nav points and objective target buildings.

      Ye its critical for play. Without it playing like a blind, dont know who are in front of, your teammates mechs or enemy. In fight it's crucial. Another enemies like stationary guns, tanks and helicopters are generally invisible :'( (its all about markers above enemies, red triangles and squears)

    Is it possible to do co op where one player is using VR and the other isn't?

      yes. i play exclusively in VR while my team is on flatscreen. this mod is clientside only therefore is not needed from other players

      hi, in our case it only works if the host is playing VR, the others only normal. is this your casE?

    Does anyone know how to get the shortcut numbers working?  I've tried rebinding them to other keyboard keys and joystick and they never work.  Not even in default

    Been a while, back when I first got my Aero I could not get it to run with this VR mod so I eventually uninstalled the game. Just gave it another go since it has been some time, and now appears it is working with the Aero which I am pleased to see!

    I have this with a few Merc Tech mods, and I was trying to see if I could get the ejection in VR part to work. For the most part it all does, but as soon as I die, the game/headset stops itself.

    I can hop back in with the Alt+5 and see the last few seconds of the ejection. But is there a way to stop it from auto disabling the VR after my mech dies?

    I'm on steam using the Rift S. Using merctech, piratetech and von mods, and a handful of a few others. But the thing is, I just want to watch myself eject from my mech, and then swap to the next mech.

    Any ideas?

    VRWarrior keybinds don't all show up. I used the mod for awhile with auto-enter on thinking the 4 keybinds I got were buggy and VR_RESET was the only one that didn't work.. VR_HUD_INCR and VR_HUD_INCR despite any Gameplay Options HUD tweak settings still not working. VR_TOGGLE didn't do anything either. I reset and re-installed everything just to make sure it wasn't me changing the funky buttons.

    While experimenting with other mods and doing  non-VR work on mods, I suddenly saw a wave of new VR keybinds show up at the very bottom of the Mods keybind list (the previous 4 above always were at the top with a wave of other keybinds in between these ones when they appeared). I was tweaked as I tweaked these new binds and found they worked.. VR_VR_TOGGLE toggled VR, despite VR_TOGGLE doing nothing.. some VR_TWEAK?  Toggle/Up/Down/Right/Left got me into the new menu and I was testing all these things for how I would bind them on my KB/HOTAS when.. suddenly a Mod Changed Reset bug from from my mod manager issues and I turned everything back on, came back to VR work.. and all but those first 4 keybinds disappeared again.

    I cannot get them to return. I have gone over everything I could read in the first few pages of these non-searchable posts and the Troubleshooting descriptions.

    I am using Virtual Desktop. I'm an AMD 6750XT. Windows 11. Steam version of MW5 and Nexus Mods using Vortex.

    I have done various combinations painstakingly of:

    • Deleting all Config folder configuration files.
    • Deleting VRWarrioriong .sav config in Saved folder.
    • Flipping Gameplay options around on/off to see if they somehow created the new binding contexts.
    • Installed MW5 Compatibility Mod 3.9, 4.0, and 4.1 to test: 3.9 couldn't ever retain Gameplay Settings.. confirmed I must be on the right modern versions.
    • Turned off ALL other mods except MW5 Compat (which I always loaded 1st) and VRWarrior.
    • Re-installed all mods. Un-installed all mods and only installed VRWarrior and MW5 Compat. (Not just enabled/disabled.)
    • Experimented with -allowhmd or no -allowhmd parameter and headset connected vs disconnected when logging in and out to see if detection of those changed keybind initialization.

    • I might have tried some other things I can't recall. I have literally spent most of my Saturday on this for hours and hours.
    • I did not try using the default keybinds, just putting alternates on them. I have a Kinesis TKO without a numpad and I never looked into tweaking it to send natural native numpad keys.. but 1 of the 4 always worked and when the others appeared they all worked fine.. KB or HOSAS mapped.

    Any ideas? My goal is to bounce between VR and 2D so I was removing -allowhmd and disabling the mod back and forth regularly.. this is why I did a full wipe of mods and configs just in case. I'd like to know the best way to approach that beyond just disabling OpenVR toolkit mods and changing GFX settings in menus if I need to do other stuff to stay safe.

    Ctrl+Num5 isn't centering my MechWar5 VR screen since I updated (?)
    I tried running without the mod, saving, and then reinstalling the VR mod but Ctrl+Num5 still doesn't work : \

    In the Index file I have this:
    ActionMappings=(ActionName="VR_Reset",bShift=False,bCtrl=False,bAlt=False,bCmd=False,Key=None)
    ActionMappings=(ActionName="VR_Reset",bShift=False,bCtrl=True,bAlt=False,bCmd=False,Key=NumPadFive)

    And this:
    ActionMappings=(ActionName="VR_Origin_Switch",bShift=False,bCtrl=False,bAlt=False,bCmd=False,Key=None)
    ActionMappings=(ActionName="VR_Origin_Switch",bShift=False,bCtrl=True,bAlt=True,bCmd=False,Key=NumPadFive)

    I tried deleting the first and 3rd lines ending in "None" (and setting index file to read-only) but it didn't fix this issue.

    I even tried deleting every single line in Index file that ended in None (was a duplicate line otherwise) and it still didn't fix the Ctrl+Num5 not resetting the view/cockpit position : \   It used to work

    delete mod, launch game, launch battle, exit game, add mod, launch game. Likely wont do anything, but it has helped with other issues.  Finally perhaps try an older version of the mod from nexus?

    Ok, I tried both of those and still no fix. I went back to ver 1.4 which worked for me before switching to windows 11. I even disabled the file VRWARRIORSettings.json  which the author suggested for another issue. To no avail. Thank you for the help though. I guess I'll be playing in non-VR ; )

    The alternate origin setting does not work for me, everything else does though.
    Using Rift S, tried with and without SteamVR.
    Also, I've found that the mods control settings stay in the menus even after deactivating the mod.

    Maybe something to do with MW5-Compatibility ?

      Its the settings file that was created by the previous mod version. I forgot to mention that in the update post, my bad.
      1) Go to
      %localappdata%\MW5Mercs\Saved 
      And delete the file VRWARRIORSettings.json
      2) Go to
      %localappdata%\MW5Mercs\Saved\SaveGames
      And delete VRSettings_NEW.sav (and any other with VR related if present)

      Hi again, solution found.
      I did need to delete the file VRWARRIORSettings.json to re-install.

      VRWarrior does not work with the MW5-Compatibility mod from the steam workshop. The one from the nexus works fine.
      You would think they would be the same versions.
