Destroyed Mechs and vehicles will burning for a few minutes 
the flames in air are the fires that still burning from last mission, you can save and load game than the fire will dissapear
in testing ver 1.03,  with 8 fires burning in view, i lost 0 fps, i have a 3090, but maybe a less powerful GPU can run it without lose much fps now.
