Version 1.0
Created.
The game reduces the faction reputation gains when you complete low-difficulty contracts, but does not change the reputation loss. This punishes the player for taking contracts in lower-level zones, and its criteria for low-level are awful strict so it feels like late game you lose net reputation with every contract.
This mod can resolve the issue in multiple ways, by preference:
Negotiated Gains: Unspent negotiation points give you bonus reputation gains on completion of the contract (up to +20, based on the proportion of available points unassigned. Less at <4 points available). It is thus a bit less costly to farm reputation from a faction which hates you.
Loss Clamp: Reputation losses are reduced alongside the gains. Low level contracts will consistently award negligible (+/- 2) reputation changes with both factions. Can be combined with Negotiated Gains.
No Squish: Reputation gains and losses are not modified by difficulty and use the default values (supposedly +/- 8 to 12; the game seems to always choose +/- 8 though). Can be combined with Negotiated Gains.
You will need to travel to new systems with no visible contracts to see the effects of the Loss Clamp/No Squish changes if the mods are installed mid-game, as the reputation rewards are built into the contracts when they are generated. Negotiated Gains will take effect immediately from the next mission you complete.
