Mission Tweak is a WIP mod which aims to apply some small tweaks to procedural mission novelty and variety. Currently the mod affects the Warzone mission type and I intend to continually tweak and update the mod as I learn more about the mission system.

Mission Tweak is a WIP mod which aims to apply some personal taste tweaks to procedural mission novelty and variety. Currently the mod affects the Warzone mission type and I intend to continually tweak and update the mod as I learn more about the mission system.

Note: If using this on an existing campaign after installing OR updating, you will need to force the game to regen available missions by moving away from the current contract zones and back.

Current Changes
Warzone
Warzone missions can now include larger battles alongside allied forces, although some contracts will still see you engaging enemy forces on your own. A randomised intensity level sees the volume of forces present in the mission and affects the probability of various new experimental optional objectives occurring which can either mean more pay, or more running.

  • Allied forces no longer spawn damaged, meaning they play a more pivotal role in the mission- fight to protect them or use them as meat shields. This also affects Defence missions.
  • Warzone contracts now have a randomised conflict intensity level which affects the volume of allied and hostile forces in play. High intensity contracts are less common than low, and you will need to work alongside your allied forces to survive.
  • Allied reinforcements can be deployed at higher intensities.
  • A handful of optional objectives that can be randomly added to missions based on a variety of conditions. Some will reward the player with additional pay, though at least one might be worth running from more...
  • A variety of misc changes to improve flow and feel, including allowing waves to overlap more, removing wave announcements, more variety in allied force types and map types and more.

Tips
I've spent a fair amount of time tuning the difficulty level balance, but generally speaking, prepare for a challenge at high intensity and difficulty levels. As the difficulty increases, the difference between intensity levels will grow but will generally follow the vanilla's difficulty curve. Running straight into the enemy will result in every bad guy focusing you, so you WILL need to consider your positioning to engage the enemy in measured amounts. Great for a coop challenge!

Compatibility
The mod will be incompatible with any mod that affects the Survival or Defence SCENEGEN blueprints.

Future Ideas
The intent with this mod is to start small and tweak aspects of missions I don't like. I'm starting with Warzone because I consider it the simplest and worst mission type, and I'll likely move on to Defence next. My aim isn't to necessarily overhaul the existing missions or add new ones (yet), but if you have any ideas of feedback please feel free to post below!
