Lite is mainly to keep the game as vanilla as possible while adding the ability to swap out parts and weapons. All mechs have their default parts that can never be destroyed, so your CN9-A will always have a medium ballistic on its right arm even if the right arm is destroyed. If you install a large ballistic arm on it though and it is destroyed, that arm is gone and you revert back to your medium ballistic arm.
Lite will have the ability to build mechs out of salvaged mech parts and to scrap your mech to get the parts off it. Just after all the issues I've had with co-op, I want to make sure it works before going too deep.
Version 0.62a
Co-op should be fully working right now. Adding stuff from V3 to see what breaks.
I really like the "Franken Mech" and hardpoint changes (splitting large into 2 medium etc) in this mod. The rest is too much for my smooth brain to want to manage. Would you consider an even lite(r) version with just those?
It requires the frankenmech system since that is where the weapon hardpoint information is stored. Each weapon needs special information on how to generate multiple weapons into 1 mesh.
Looks like it is a big and deep rework of whole game. But very poor description of the mod. Not a everyone is familiarized with your previous mods MerchTechv2 and V3 (i am - no, for example). Please add some description, cangelogs and general info about compatibility with that standalone mods like a vonBiomes, Coyotes, TTrulezAI and your previous mods like a CockpitGlass, Cam&Animationetc...
Thanks for your hard works anyway and goodluck with further development!
The steam workshop version will be getting an update that has a huge Level of Detail (LOD) update. Right now in the current release all 6,652 parts use the highest level of detail. I was looking at months long work to update all of them to use the correct LOD stuff, but yesterday I figured out how to automate it. The newest version is 50% bigger but currently feedback is that it runs better than vanilla in some points. I'm uploading it to steam workshop to test on my ROG Ally (handheld like steamdeck). I will probably release it on Nexus Friday if it doesn't break anything.
UPDATE: Took while but I fixed the load syncs when parts are shown. This fixes the stutter when mechs are damaged
This looks so cool! Really hope at some point you might make a YAML compatible version. I think YAML sources are available, so maybe you could just incorporate YAML mechlab changes into your mechlab and override.
I'm sure it's easier said than done, and then there's the weapons to think about too... so it's probably not a simple matter at all. There is a lot of YAML players that would love this mod though! I suppose it also may be possible that the YAML authors might consider adding your work as an optional component of YAML if you gave them permission.
With how much had to be done with the mechlab, best to start from scratch or near scratch. I've implemented a lot of the background code for vehicles into this mod from MercTech V3, so when I add playable vehicles it won't require a rewrite.

Been waiting a long time and it looks like we will have CLANS before merctech happens which is MW6 basically.

I'll try MercTech on my next playthrough!
or alternativeway like use some collection but deactivate YAML?
