Description
This mod contains a lot of visual changes of weapon FX.
"Is that an AC impact or did that Mech just lose an arm?"
I felt that some FX were too strong, big or similar to easily distinguish between them.
Especially AC impacts can create fireballs that obscure whole Mechs. I want to blow through the Mech's armor not incinerate them with my ACs. 
Therefore I did a lot of changes and added a couple of new FX to hopefully make it a bit better.
Unfortunately the TAA in general swallows lots of filigree particle details, therefore particles are sometime quite big when seen from close up. Turning AA off makes them look much better but other areas of the game look like crap without.

I realized that the original changes where quite good performing, actually better than vanilla, therefore I decided to boost most effects a bit and fix some other things on the way. The explosion received the biggest amount of changes.

Have a look at the new video, the screenshots are not catching the FX well.

Added PPC impact and explosion debris.
An alternative version with less bright lasers is now available.

Reworked the mod to run with the post Steam release versions.
Some effects look slightly different than before, but for the better.
Had to split the mod in 2 packages because I couldn't make it work otherwise, for whatever reason.

Since I had to split up the mod, you can choose to only use one part of it.

Copy unpacked folder to your game's mod folder and activate it in the in-game menu.

  • This mod is probably incompatible with most other mods that change Mech impact particle systems, projectiles or projectile particle systems.
