NEW TRACKING PRINTS!

Are you bored of the same old same old simple arrow showing the tracking information of recent parties on the map? Well no MORE! I present to you
6 new tracking information replacers you can use on ALL WARBAND installs, not only on viking conquest! Just choose a Style and drop it in your texture folder, that is all :D

NEW HIDEOUT SPAWN

If you are like and have been playing Viking Conquest for a while, you might notice some design ideas in the game are quite good but tend to become irksome after several playthroughs.

In this case, the hideout spawn entry point.

In Vanilla VC when you want to "take a walk" in your hideout you spawn in the farthest reaches of the map for the apparent scenic trip of going from one forest to admire the river, the small field and the palisade of your Tier 2 Hideout so you can actually talk to the smith or captain in there.

After the 10th trip it begins to become annoying.

So I simply moved the spawn point right next to the area where you can either veer left and talk to your merchants or right to talk to the Captain.

A small QoL improvement on this marvelous game.

This tweak works for Vanilla VC , Balance Mod, Balance Mod+ Armor Mod and Blood Eagle as well!

I personally use my hideout a LOT , much more than regular castles or cities as that is the ONLY place in the game, when properly positioned you can actually rest without the AI coming to get you.

As a side tip remember you can be attacked by roaming parties in your hideout, so proper positioning of it is a must, usually in the mountains or areas of the map that see little if any traffic or in an island.

When placed this way you can rest there indefinitely and enjoy some R&R without much fear of attack, except the occasional roaming band of outlaws or a lord that somehow got lost chasing a small bandit party. I personally prefer islands as there is 0 chance of anything even remotely spotting you.

I plan to add here any kind of small tweaks and texture changes that are good to have on your game and that do not detract from the vanilla experience as well, but for now the Tier 2 Hideout spawn point is for me a must have in all my plays.

Have fun!

NO MUSIC / SILENT MUSIC

This simple reconfigured music.txt file is a file that triggers for all possible music files the already included in vanilla silentio.wav.

I created this file to have no music in the background as after several years no matter how many music packs or module added music I hear they tend to become repetitive.

I now simply stream in the background curated or dynamic music tracks using online services, these fit my current plays better, specially if you have some nice internet radios or endless stream channels in the background to give more ambience to the game

As a bonus you can delete all files in the music folder except silentio.wav silentio.ogg , saving some hundred megs for a tighter install if you like to be efficient with your ssd or hd space.

CHANGE SHIP SPEED / TROOP CAPACITY VISUAL AID HACK

I love to tweak my ships speed + troop capacity for different playstyles, full Sea Captain , Pirate Raider and others, thus I will add on the Image Section a small Visual Aid to let you know how you change, within your scrips.txt file the different ships , you will see in the image that I highlighted the section within the scripts.txt file the sections that you have to look for: "get_ship_properties -1"

For visual help I specifically selected and highlighted the numbers within red circles, the first set of circles to the left are Ship Speeds, starting with the busse at 16 and to the far right the number of troops it can hold, in this case I upped it to 100.  You can then check the rest of the selected numbers, with each line being different ships with their respective speeds and troop sizes.

I am doing this to help you and me as well, as I usually play VC religiously every year /year and a half for a full playthrough of the Campaign and sometimes due to moving around/new puters I delete my previous VC install haha, and sometimes I forget how to hack these values, specially off the amazing Balance Mod which is my go to every single time.

Enjoy!
