Awaiting the release of the next Mount and Blade title, I wanted to polish the existing multiplayer in Warband, and make it look and feel more immersive. Now not only matters how much coins you have to buy a top tier weapon, but mostly your skill, since there are no top tiers anymore. Here I took inspiration from Dark Souls games, where there was no best equipment, and everyone has to rely only on skills. After two years of developing and implementing other resources into this module, I can finally present to you the Dreams Of Fire. This mod changes the way you feel multiplayer.

  Armor now can really slow you down, crossbows might penetrate your shield and there are no useless weapons anymore. Sometimes cheapest sword might be better than a heavy weighted and pricey hammer.
Now you can also try to halfsword almost every sword in game and do upper thrusts with spears.

Everything was rebalanced from the core. Other change is the look of the game. By implementing new textures and changing all of the armors and weapons I tried to make multiplayer feel fresh and realistic.

  So, if you want to have some more fun with Warband before the release of the next title, this mod is for you.


Changes of balance and mechanics:
  • Some crossbows and a few bows now can penetrate your shield and deal damage through it.
  • Armor weight is changed so that when you decide to wear a full plate armor for better protection, you will have to sacrifice your running speed. The game had that mechanic before, but now you really feel the difference, and wearing lighter and cheaper armor actually makes sense.
  • Weapons speed and damage are changed completely, and situation is quite similar to armor. Now bigger and pricier weapons are a lot slower than a cheaper and less damaging shortsword.
  • Bots are now a lot smarter and stronger, thanks to Doghotel's brainy Bots mod by Gravskrift


Gameplay changes:
  • NEW faction - Kingdom of Kreuzritter, which represents various crusader orders.
  • NEW faction - Fallen Ronins, which represents japanese samurai warriors.
  • NEW maps. ''The Keep'' made completely by me, others I found as OSP resources and reworked them.
  • NEW fighting mechanics such as HALFSWORDING and UPPER THRUST.
  • Included both DAY and NIGHT versions of new maps. Try it, the atmosphere on those maps is worth it :)
  • Added some weapons , that were not present in multiplayer before, such as: Flamberge, Halberd, Kriegsmesser, Throwing Daggers, Katanas and more.
  • Added armors and helmets, such as: Fluted plate armor, Sallet, Bascinet, Armet e.t.c.
