About this mod

Ever wanted to play a Dena Pirate invading Brytenwalda? With this small tweak/savegame you can! You start as a Dena Warrior with a cadre of 11 companions already kitted in Dena Gear and ready to be customized by you! for Brytenwalda 1.41

Permissions and credits
I really like Brytenwalda, but after a while I decided to simply play being a Raider, a Dena one to be exact.

So I just created this small tweak to the troops.txt (to alter npc names) modified my faction standing to Sea Raiders , started a new game, spent some days gathering companions that are theoretically not averse to raiding villages, kitted them in dena gear, Reset ALL THEIR stats and leveled them to 10 and added Nordic names from history/legends to them, then made a savegame you can use (Editing skills needed are minimum, just copy and paste, no need to hardmod or rewrite , easy peachy!)

So In short you start at Day 3 in a small remote shore , you ship crashed and lost, one of your men injured after finding some not so friendly locals , just your trusted companions and you, alone in practically a new world, ready to plunder!

You worship the Old Germanic Gods, are kitted in standard Dena Gear and have the stats that match all other Dena Pirates that sail to these lands. Your companions too!

Remain a small roving band and have fun or actually try to carve a kingdom here!

Up to you! Enjoy!

How to Install

Hi guys!

If you want to try my little \"Dena Party\" savegame this is what you have to do:

Folder that says \"In the Document Folder\" has the savegame data you need to copy
over.

Go to your DOCUMENTS in Windows and there will be a folder called \"Mount&Blade
Warband Savegames\", go there and if you have Brytenwalda installed you will
see a folder called \"Brytenwalda\", then proceed to copy there the included
files \"last_savegame_backup.sav\" and \"sg00.sav\".

Once you do that, then move to the next folder in this zip, the one called
\"In your installed Warband Folder\", you have to look now into your warband install
directory, then the folder \"modules\" where a \"Brytenwalda\" folder should be
installed and then open that folder and copy the \"troops.txt\" file included
here that has the Nordic name changes for common companions.

REMEMBER to backup your savegames in step 1 and your TROOPS.TXT file in step 2
if you want to revert to your original savegames and classic companions.

******

I used these companions, that are included in the matrix for stable RAIDING
companions in the forums. This means theoretically you could raid villages
with these companions without too much hassle fitting with the theme of Dena
Raiders.

The Companions included are:

Agasicles = Hoskuld
Athrwys = Jarnskeggi
Brian = Kollskeg
Ciniod = Alfgeir
Frioc = Griotgard
Liuva = Fromund
Matui = Byrnjolf Olafsen
Mihael = Gudvaer
Onuist = Haklang
Osmund = Hreidar
Siwi = Iorund

And with you aboard there´s 12 merry raiders willing to plunder ol´England XD

After you try to enslave/raze and plunder a village two companions will complain, but only ONCE and never again (This is a stable raiding party)

Since they are in essence the same companions from original brytenwalda re-skinned, just don´t ask them about their stories, if you dont want to break immersion :) , I also tried to trigger most City hotspots where they would tell you some lore to avoid this , might have missed one or two, just ignore him :)

During play someone might not like Hoskuld (being the grumpy old man he is) just support the complainer since Hoskuld/Agasicles has a friend in the party, besides that this is a very stable
non complaining raiding party, the way I like them.

You start with a bit low rep, small renown and only 150 scillings on Day3, Feb 25.

All of your companions are leveled to10 with bare stats to equip Dena Gear (12/6/1/1) and appropiate skillpoints/stats to distribute at your leisure.

I stuck to regular Dena Pirate gear list to keep them "real"
according to in game lore. Companions I decided to place to level 10 to create
a cadre of hardened warriors that follow you, a leader and raider that you can
tailor for your own playstyle, which is what I enjoy

You start as a "Classic" in game Dena Pirate, (30/20/12/14) and 24 skill points
to distribute after placing Dena Pirate NPC in game stats. Placed 4 points in leadership since
you are a Dena Captain of sorts and upped looting (you in there for the booty and
plunder!).

You worship the Old Germanic Gods too, have -10 rep and nearby kingdom is closed to you.

Have fun with this very little mini tweak. If you want higher or lower leveled
companions remember you can import/export them, same if you want to change
the name of your main char. Export him and in the charfile edit the line
that says "name":

********

charfile_version = 1
name = Eldgrim_Haefnirsen <------------ this one
xp = 306564
money = 150

********
Chanmge it to whatever you want, IMPORT back in the game and free name change!

Remember to use "_" if you have a more than one word name between words

You can also change your name "legally" in game after you gain some renown
too btw.

Anyway have a nice day/night and game on! :)

Cheers!

Update 1.1 : I tweaked the savedgame so you start with Cooperative (15) relations to Sea Warriors and made your spawn point in the savegame next to a fully goods stocked Dena Landing site. It has enough "supplies" to last you for a bit and some money. It will deplete and to my experience never restock, you are there for plunder, if you decide to stay for the long run, build relations with locals and trade in their towns :)

Update 1.2 I added a new savegame and troop.txt with a much lower level main char, an "Unright" of Pict Descent with a full party of War Painted armed to the Teeth Pict "Unrights". You will spawn in the savegame on Day 3 next to an Unright Camp with cooperative faction with them and negative faction to Fortriu, like the Dena Savegame, the Bandit Camp is stocked with food and money to help you trade during the first few days if you just want to raid and pillage around you.

Be a Leader of a Warband of Picts! Used the colorful and nice looking War Painted Pict Bodies and "tribal" gear to create this Unright Pict Warband!
