"Max Payne 3 and the game really ahead of its released time as mechanics, unique game atmosphere etc"

Not really, in many ways & certainly not "ahead of its released time" as both Max Payne 1 & 2 not only being better games had 99% of the mechanics already - everything that makes Max Payne 3 a good game was in both 1 & 2 originally.

Also Max Payne 3 is hardly an "old school game" it's very much a current-ish game, if you were referring to MP 1 & 2 then yes they could be considered old[er] school, graphically.

Lastly the atmosphere again is merely echoed, as both Max Payne 1 & 2 already set the atmosphere and arguably better.
