NEW PROPER FIX HERE: From here on out, this mod is specifically for SDR users.

Alright, so with the newest patch for ME:LE Bioware seems to have reworked the prerendered cutscenes to "reduce artifacting" however in doing so they messed up the contrast or something, as I, and several other users have noticed inverted blacks (where the darkest blacks give off a greyish bleached hue) in loading screens and several of the prerendered cutscenes and nothing we change seems to fix it aside from disabling HDR in the calibration menu. Obviously we don't want to have to do this and deal with the washed out look of SDR, so I decided to make this preset to replicate the effects of HDR closest to that of the base game's and in the process have eliminated this issue of inverted black. Sadly, it isn't true HDR, but it does replicate the effects of it very closely, and gets rid of that washed out look that SDR gives off.
It's very subtle, I didn't want to do anything crazy with it aside from recreate that HDR look since the latest patch messed up native HDR for some users during cutscenes (Here's a support link with images of this problem https://answers.ea.com/t5/Mass-Effect-Legendary-Edition/Elevated-Black-Levels-During-Pre-rendered-Cutscenes-Since-17-5/m-p/10354153#M3984).

Installation

1. Download the latest version of Reshade (https://reshade.me/).
2. Run Reshade, select MassEffect1.exe in the game's directory, and select Direct3D 10/11/12 API.
3. Only ensure that SweetFX by CeeJay.dk is checked off (Don't worry about Standard effects, it's checked off by default) and click OK.
4. Uncheck everything but DPX and FakeHDR and then click OK.
5. Install my Reshade preset in the same folder as MassEffect1.exe.
6. Run the game.
7. *HDR users only* Make sure that HDR is set to Off in the calibrations menu.
8. Open the Reshade overlay, click the drop down box, select my preset.
9. You're done!

I don't really intend to update this, although I'm willing to if you have any suggestions, but it's a simple Reshade and I'm not sure what exactly could be changed to benefit it. I'm hoping Bioware will put out another patch fixing this issue themselves.
