Note from May 2023 I plan on taking better pictures and updating this guide as I replay the games this year in an attempt to give clearer notes and less confusing photos. If you've found out any good tips and tricks to editing your Shep in the Trilogy Save Editor, feel free to share in the comments and I'll pin/add this info with credit. This project is really a compilation of community knowledge and free to be used by anyone or added to as needed, as it's just information! The goal is to help everyone make a Shepard who they love looking at in every cutscene, in every game, and fix any little problems that bug you (if possible). For those of us who don't understand Blender, how to go about creating a whole new face, making mods that don't fix our cross-eyed Sheps, and those about to rock, I salute you.

Have fun exploding Shepard's bones!

This guide is for the Trilogy Save Editor and intended for anyone who wants to change their Shepard's facial features by means of the 'Offset Bones' tab.

I strongly recommend using this guide in conjunction with Trilogy Editor Head Morph Notes and Basic Guide, which inspired this and explains in better detail the logistics of offset bones as well as a few other key changes you can make in TSE.

This guide started out as a personal project to help me in building my own ideal Shepard, but then I figured it might help others as a visual reference when using The Trilogy Editor. It's basically just a collection of pictures showing which features are altered and how, not exactly a mod.

  • Certain features have both a left and right side, so for the sake of saving time (and space on your computer), I've only altered and photographed the right side.

  • There are some pictures from the front and the side. If one facial feature has, for example, only a side picture, it's because it doesn't seemingly change anything from the front.

  • X, Y, and Z are the three different points of each feature you can change in Trilogy Editor. "-" means I've subtracted from the original amount (ie: 2.000 becomes 1.000) and "+" is when I've added to it.

  • This guide only shows the 'Offset Bones' portion of the editor. I've included a picture that shows the makeup vectors names, but if you want better information on changing hair, brow, and skintones, as well as the opacity and intensity of all colors, the Trilogy Editor Head Morph Notes and Basic Guide explains it best!

  • I've used rather extreme integers to better demonstrate the feature. Obviously I'd recommend you alter by decimals! Or go full 'Truck Shepard'. Up to you ;)

  • The pictures I've used are all from ME1, but the concept applies and will work in 2 and 3 just the same! It will also work exactly the same with your Male Shepards.

I've included a small txt file with a few tips and further explanations, but if there is any confusion or questions that aren't stated here or in that file, I will try to answer any questions in the comments to the best of my ability. This is my first upload, so please be kind! I'm just someone who wanted to simplify a feature of TSE for newbies like me. Any other tips and expertise from others is more than welcome in the comments. I hope this helps you build your dream Shepard!

xx
