About this mod
Various enhancements to make the Journal more serviceable. Actually track the advancement of missions. Easily distinguish main mission from side quests, identify missions that cannot currently be progressed, etc.

- One important reason why the vanilla journal feels like a mess is that it does not have separate tabs for different types of missions (main story, combat side quests, fetch quests). To circumvent the issue, this mod adds prefixes to the titles of journal entries, so that ordering missions by Name also orders them by type (e.g. [D] for Delivery, when you need to return an item to someone on the Citadel). See below for more detail.
- A large number of new journal entries have been added into the game, to better track the advancement of missions (e.g. you will now be able to see whether you already fetched an item, and need to deliver it. Or if you still need to scour the galaxy to find it). This also means that you will get more journal notifications, whenever the tracked progress of a quest is updated.
- A number of quests that could remain stuck in the journal without possibility to complete them (e.g. the side quests on Omega) should now properly expire in the Journal.
- New journal entries have also been added for the Completed stage of various missions, so that the aftermath of the completed task can be read from the Journal.
- New journal entries have also been added for the Sleeping stage of various missions, so that missions that are currently impossible to move forward can easily be identified.
- Shadow Broker Intel has been added in the text of various journal entries to provide more information about the precise destination of the next objective.

EXAMPLE
In vanilla, the mission Citadel: Alien Medi-gel Formula has two possible journal entries.
1) If you overheard the doctor talking:
2) If you recover the medi-gel experiment from the Cerberus base without having heard the doctor first:
With this mod, the mission Citadel: Alien Medi-Gel Formula has eight possible journal entries, depending on the state of the mission:
1) If you overheard the doctor talking and the mission where you can recover the formula is available:
2) If you overheard the doctor talking and the mission where you can recover the formula is not yet available:
3) If you overheard the doctor talking and the mission where you can recover the formula has been completed (but you missed the item):
4) If you recovered the formula after overhearing the doctor:
5) If you recovered the formula without having heard the doctor first:
6) If you recovered the formula but the doctor is not yet present on the Citadel (before Priority: Palaven):
7) If the quest expired:
8) If the quest is completed:
NOTES
- This mod does not affect save files nor the internal mission progress, but only changes how missions are tracked in the journal. This mod can thus be installed or uninstalled at any time during a playthrough. If you do so mid-playthrough, you will probably get a number of "Mission Updated" notifications, but again this is only because the journal entry changed, the underlying quest progress is unaffected. Read carefully below how to properly uninstall the mod (it's not difficult, but there are two necessary steps).
- The mod is in English, but translations in French, Spanish, Italian, Polish and Russian are included. In other languages, the mod will work just fine but many journal entries will be in English. I hope to get and include translations in other languages, contact me if you are willing to help with that.
- Adding journal entries to better track mission progress or add completion descriptions is a daunting task. In the current version, this was done for most of the small side-quests (e.g. fetch quests, small back and forth Citadel runs, etc). I may consider updating other quests later so that the journal reflects more accurately the current objectives and/or the various possible outcomes. Suggestions are welcome, if some quests are in more need of added clarifications.
COMPATIBILITY
As far as I know, there should not be any compatibility issues with other mods.
If you use mods that add their own missions, the corresponding journal entries are 100% determined by the authors of these mods, and not affected in any way by Journal Enhanced.
If you use any mod that changes the triggers-requirements to initiate or progress in vanilla missions, there may be some inconsistencies with the Journal, although in general I tried to do it in the most robust way possible.
- Expanded Galaxy Mod makes a lot of systems available on the galaxy map earlier than in vanilla. In general, this does not cause any inaccuracies with Journal Enhanced, except for a few cases where the journal may still indicate a sleeping mission (zzz - ...) even though the item can already be recovered from the galaxy map. This is not really an issue, since the journal will update to non-sleeping status at the normal vanilla stage, and you won't miss the item. And if you do recover the item early, the journal status will update correctly.
- Expanded Galaxy Mod also gives the option to have various missions (e.g. the N7 assignments) trigger at customizable points in the story. Journal Enhanced should deal properly with this.
INSTALLATION
Install with ME3Tweaks Mod Manager.
- Drag and drop the compressed (.7z) mod file for Journal Enhanced into the Mod manager window, and import it.
- Select the mod in the Mod Manager library list (for LE3) and click "Apply Mod".
Uninstall with ME3Tweaks Mod Manager. You need to perform these two steps in order:
- Step 1: Click "Apply Mod" once again, but select the "Vanilla" option, to revert some of the effects of the mod.
- Step 2: Go in Manage Target (for LE3), find Journal Enhanced in the list of installed DLC mods, and disable or delete it.
