About this mod

Various combinations of scars and glowing eyes to choose from here at different levels of Paragon and Renegade

Permissions and credits
Please note screenshots are maleshep as that is my character but these edits will work for femaleshep also (and custom shep but there's apparently an issue with custom shep (an existing bug) and the glow which I'm addressing in the comments at the moment)

---------Update 7 13/06/2021---------

As more mod tools are becoming available NoiraFayn has started to create scar mods that do not use the Coalesced file (and so will be compatible with other coalesced mods you may be using without merges) they have informed me that the scars are permanent as it stands but eventually they want to move onto editing the renegade system as I have. So if you can't find what you're looking for here then take a look here Noira's Scar Mod

---------Update 6 12/06/2021---------

Added red glow, illusive mans eyes for all levels without scarring by request

---------Update 5 05/06/2021---------

Added Normal progression by scars stop at level 4 whilst eyes go to max by request

---------Update 4 01/06/2021---------

Added level 4 scarring and no red eyes by request

---------Update 3 30/05/2021---------

Added standard progression but stop at level 4 by request, i put both ME2 and ME3 files into one download, I will probably do this for all future updates (though I can't do what I want with this mod until we get an explorer)

---------Update 2 28/05/2021---------

I am trying my hardest to edit the eye glow through the coalesced file rather than facemorph, if i can achieve this then we can make changing colours and textures dependant on morality level. So far I have managed to change the texture of the glow from a glowing red iris to a glowing red illusive man shape like so:

But what I am struggling to do is to change the colour of that glow to anything other than red. I assume the colour is shared with the scars glow also so if i can find a parameter in the file that adjusts the eye colour glow the scars might change too but so far i am drawing a blank after hours of trial and error.

Anyway whilst I struggle away at this I have added the above file to my ME2LE downloads named ME2LE No Scars Illusive Man Red Glow Eyes, I have not made one for ME3 yet, though it will be possible, this will give illusive man red glow on all levels (I can only check this works on male shep, I have added it to fem shep but cannot test)

If anyone knows how to add a parameter in to change the colour of the glow PLEASE leave a comment :)

---------Update 1---------

I have now replicated the work on ME3 also, the below descriptions still apply, however you will of course need to download the ME3LE version of the mod you desire this time round. Please note also that the file you need to backup and replace in ME3 is named Coalesced.bin (without the _INT)

---------Original---------

I originally set out with this one to just remove scars from every level and just have red eyes but as my job as a software tester is basically "what if i do this this this and this" I ended up creating many combinations of scars and glowing eyes for you to choose from. As listed below:

All the file names are self explanatory but I will just go over them here

-ME2LE No Scarring and Red Eyes all levels - Gives red eyes at all levels of morality but no scarring

-ME2LE No Scarring Standard Eyes Progression - Gives No Scarring at all levels and your eyes will progress naturally to red with the renegade morality (please note, some of the glow comes from the scars themselves so you might not get red eyes till later on in the renegade slider, i haven't tested this)

-ME2LE Standard Scarring No Red Eyes Always - Gives the standard morality progression for scarring but your eyes will not turn full red (please note that some scarring levels seem to add a glow to the iris so there is no way to have fully blue eyes but max scars, so you will notice the eyes change a little)

-ME2LE Standard Scarring Red Eyes Always - Gives red eyes at every morality level but scars will progress as normal

-ME2LE Max Scars with No Red Eyes all levels - Gives Max scarring at all levels but no red eyes (please note that some scarring levels seem to add a glow to the iris so there is no way to have fully blue eyes but max scars, so you will notice the eyes change a little)

-ME2LE Max Scars all levels Standard Eye Progression - Gives Max Scars at all levels but eyes progress as normal (please note that some scarring levels seem to add a glow to the iris so there is no way to have fully blue eyes but max scars, so you will notice the eyes change a little)

-ME2LE Max Scars and Red Eyes all levels - Gives the top level renegade scars and eyes at all levels ( This is also used in jpagner's mod where you can add scars to all levels in both ME2 and ME3)

-ME2LE Reverse Scarring and Eyes Progression - And just for funsies this one reverses the morality levels so the more renegade actions you perform the more you heal and the more paragon actions you perform the worse your eyes and scars get because yknow, being good is bad?

I have no included a no scars and no eyes because you can already achieve that in game, let's not cheat the system now ;)

Installation:

As modding at the moment consists of one file being edited you will probably want to combine one of my files with other peoples edits, there will be a tutorial on the bigger modders pages on how to combine coalesced files I am sure.

If you are a modder and want to include this in your Coalesced go ahead, just let me know and credit :)

To install, download the level you want

go to your game directory and then:

\Mass Effect Legendary Edition\Game\ME2\BioGame\CookedPCConsole

Rename your existing Coalesced file to Coalesced_INT.bak to make a backup of it then drag this file into the folder

((There were alot of edits here and i HOPE i got them all in the right order, please let me now if something unexpected happens, i may have saved them into the wrong order in that case)
