About this mod

An attempt at recreating Trilogy style squad icons by replacing the white svgs with ingame screenshots.

Unfortunately as per Frosty Editor limitations I can't make icons' resolution any bigger.

Hence another version with face cutouts and transparent backgrounds (you can choose what looks better by picking one of the files, looking at header image and comparing former and latter trio of screenshots).

Also I used screenshots of default squadmate designs.

You can customize that by using Frosty Editor 1.0.5.9 (same download page as Frosty Mod Manager needed to run this mod).

1) Download Frosty Editor 1.0.5.9 from the same site linked in requirements for this mod.
2) Unpack and launch it and direct it to Mass Effect Andromeda exe file.
3) The icons are located under Game\UI\HUD\Squad\Icons.
4) Right click in the file and export it (there are six, separate files and a seventh file with all icons and some additional ones).
!!!!When you are done with individual files just Layer and merge them on that seventh file with the same image editor!!!!
5) DO NOT CHANGE this file's resolution or format (they are 36x36 and .png).
6) Choose any image you like and the use GIMP  to crop the round piece out of it
(use Ellipse Select Tool to choose what gets in the portrait, then Crop to Selection (under Image tab) then Invert (under Select tab) and then press delete)
(IF THE BACKGROUND is WHITE or whatever one single color Add Alpha to Selection (in Transparency section under Layer tab)  and press delete again)
(Scale Image (under Image tab) but be aware, that portrait images are not at all HD res, so crop however much you want and then just scale it to 36x36)
7) Import your new version of image from 4 using Frosty Editor (just go back to the window from which you exported and press import there).
8) Press File then Export to Mod, fill the blanks with whatever, and you have your fbmod to use!

I've included the fbproject file (open with Frosty Editor) under misc if you wanna partially edit my mods contains.
