About this mod

Final Confrontation Overhaul Mod introduces a dynamic and complex mechanic system for the final confrontation with the Illusive Man, in which the player's decisions, dialogue choices, and actions directly determine not only the final outcome -- but how much they're able to break free from TIM's control.

Description
__________________________________________________________________________

The author behind Priority: Earth Overhaul Mod brings you the Final Confrontation Overhaul Mod, which introduces an original and complex mechanic system for the final confrontation with the Illusive Man.

Inspired by Bioware's initial concept for a dialogue-based boss fight, the mechanics in FCOM force you to read the situation and the Illusive Man's state of mind, and carefully choose what you do next. Failure will result in The Illusive Man exerting more control over you, and will make it more difficult to persuade or intimidate him.

The amount of Illusive Man's control over you is represented by two new UI elements, which let you keep track of your current status. In the end, based on the amount of remaining control, one of three possible outcomes will occur.

The player has several new actions available to them, represented under the Investigate category in the dialogue wheel, as well as some new interrupts. All of this is complemented by the previously cut voice lines, which have now been restored.

When
, how, and if you utilize your new tools depends entirely on you -- but so do the consequences.

  Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Spoiler:
Show

1. Can I get a version without the UI?

A: No, the new UI is a crucial element of the new mechanics, as it keeps players updated on their status and progress. Removing the UI would result in frustration, especially in first-time players. If the UI could be turned off after installation, or using in-game settings, then sure. But as it stands, it can't be.

2. I am unable to pick the last Paragon/Intimidate option. Why?

A: This is a part of the original game, and happens if you did not select a Paragon or Intimidate option back on Mars or Thessia. With FCOM installed, this means you can only get the Medium Ending.

3. Will this be a part of The Orikon Collection?

A: Probably, but I can't 100% confirm it, as I'm still deciding how and if to integrate it into The Collection. Everything depends on player feedback.

4. Any tips or recommendations?

A: Yep! Don't agitate the Illusive Man, and keep an eye out on what Anderson is saying, as he gives clues on what the correct thing to do is. More importantly, choose how you're going to approach the situation. Paragon and Renegade ways of dealing with TIM are quite different, especially psychologically.

5. Yo, I reported this problem at [insert date] but nobody has fixed it.

A: Either:

a) You failed to properly specify the location, time and nature of your problem.

b) The problem is user error and cannot be mass replicated among the majority of users.

c) This was already addressed and is not a bug or error.
