How would one install this using ME3Tweaks?

Is there any way I can install the reignite music without JAM or MEHEM?

Not at this time. And while I view it as "not difficult" since I've done it a ton, it's really annoying the first time most people try. Sorry I probably can't do the mod because it does still take time to do and I'm pretty tapped out at the moment.

Some day I might get bored and slap up that option for people who want to use the EC endings. Oh, I guess technically you can check out LIME - We Will Prevail as that has the Reignite music as an option but my hunch is you're after the EC endings.

Wait, ah ha, there is kind of a way. I forgot that my "not CEM" mod, which takes all ending of the EC endings to the Citadel DLC, does have music options and Malukah is one of them.

Now, you'd need to know how to use a hex editor to make it the end of the game but it's not too bad. Here's what you'd do.

Download the Extended Cut to Citadel DLC - music options from http://www.nexusmods.com/masseffect3/mods/357/? and install it choosing the Malukah option.

You probably already know the ending you'll choose, if so, this saves you time. Otherwise you can edit all of these files instead of just one ending. You'll find them in %mass effect3 install directory%\BIOGame\DLC\DLC_CON_ECtoC\CookedPCConsole
      BioD_End002_500Choice.pcc (reject)
      BioD_End002_710MemorialRed.pcc (destroy)
      BioD_End002_720MemorialBlue.pcc (control)
      BioD_End002_730MemorialGreen.pcc (synthesis)

In one or all of those files, open it with a hex editor. I use HxD.

Scroll to the bottom. You should see some actual words on the right you can read. The second to last one is BioP_CEM or actually written as B.i.o.P._.C.E.M...

You can pretty much change it to whatever you want, but for this example, I'll say make it E.n.t.r.y.C.u.s... and then save the file.

Now, you need to go to the main game folder at%mass effect3 install directory%\BIOGame\CookedPCConsole and find the file EntryMenu.pcc. Copy that file to the the DLC_CON_ECtoC\CookedPCConsole folder.

Rename EntryMenu.pcc in this folder to EntryCus.pcc

Almost done. Using me3explorer, which you can get from http://www.nexusmods.com/masseffect3/mods/409/?
Open it and go to User Tools -> TOC Tools -> Auto TOC.

      Then choose Create TOC

Navigate to the DLC_CON_ECtoC folder and you should see a PCConsoleTOC.bin file. That's perfect. Choose to Save and its' fine to overwrite it.

Now, when you finish the game you should hear Reignite. The only difference will be instead of going back to the Normandy you'll go to the splash screen.

How hard would it be to change the music for the Control epilogue to the menu music, and nothing else? No Citadel Epilogue, no credit music change -- literally just swapping the music for the vanilla Extended Cut Control epilogue.

The way I do it, kind of hard. Songs need to be in the file for an "easy" change but when they're not then you have to do manual process that isn't fun.

That said, the tools for modding are quite different from when I did this. It's very possible that changing music is easier today.

I did some spelunking through old threads, and there's a ton of outdated information on sound editing. I know Soundplorer and other Asset Explorer tools are outdated, and I found this old tutorial that seems relevant to what I'm trying to do, but the link to download the afc_creator tool doesn't work for me: https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/me3explorer/tutorial-making-new-afc-files-t1708.html

      Any advice?

Edit: I know WWise is no longer available/supported either, but I feel like I might not need it since I'm trying to swap music that's already in the game? But I could be wrong. I've never tried to mod audio files before!

I tried installing this mod, but I can't get past this part in the installation:

    "

Navigate to <Origin games install folder>\Mass Effect 3\BIOGame\DLC\DLC_CON_JAM and double click PCConsoleTOC.bin

Using me3explorer, go to Developer Tools -> DLC Tools -> DLC Editor.

Still in me3explorer, click on the yellow folder and open up <Origin games install folder>\Mass Effect 3\BIOGame\DLC\DLC_CON_END\CookedPCConsole\Default.sfar

Now, expand out the folders until you get to the CookedPCConsole folder and scoll down (near the bottom) and find DLC_COND_END_SFX.afc. Right click on it and Replace."

Whenever I try to open DLC Tools, I get an error message saying PCConsoleTOC.bin isn't a valid star file.

Are you using the reignite version of the mod? If so, if you navigate to <Origin games install folder>\Mass Effect 3\BIOGame\DLC\DLC_CON_END\

      1. Do you have a CookedPCConsole folder and within that only a Default.sfar file?

      2. Or, do you have both a CookedPCConsole folder and Movies folder within DLC_CON_END and in that CookedPCConsole folder a lot of files?

If it's 2, then replace the DLC_CON_END_SFX.afc file with the one from this mod. Then run the AutoTOC from the root of the DLC_CON_END folder. If that makes sense.

If it's 1, it's a little confusing and I'm wondering if me3explorer has changed since I wrote the instructions. Let me know the version you're using and I'll try to figure it out. Also let me know the version of me3explorer you have.

When you say Navigate to the DLC_CON_END folder, do you mean from within ME3Explorer or just from within windows?

And honestly, I would need full installation instructions with any changes posted, now you're talking about the Auto TOC again I am completely lost has to what point I'm at now.

Yeah, this is gonna be tough but I think we can get it eventually. Let's start at the beginning.
Which version of the mod did you download?
      JAM-Hackett_epilogue_music_change
      or
      JAM-Hacket_epilogue_and_Reignite_credits

And, which version of me3explorer do you have downloaded? Newer versions will tell you the version number in the upper right of the screen.

Once I know that we can start moving forward.

      The one with Reignite.

And I dunno for sure, but its an SVN version, and it says 0109K on the main menu.

Thanks. OK, given that you get a message about a message saying the PCConsoleTOC.bin file isn't a valid sfar file, then I have an idea what's going on.

If you go to <Origin games install folder>\Mass Effect 3\BIOGame\DLC\DLC_CON_END\ in that folder, do you see both the folders CookedPCConsole and Movies and a file named PCConsoleTOC.bin? If so, then here's what you'll do.

Open up the CookedPCConsole folder and you should see a ton of files in there. From the mod download, copy the DLC_CON_END_SFX.afc file and put in that <Origin games install folder>\Mass Effect 3\BIOGame\DLC\DLC_CON_END\CookedPCConsole folder. It should ask to overwrite the file there, that's perfect.

You probably don't even need to do this but for safety, you could run the Tools -> AutoTOC. Then File -> Create TOC for the DLC_CON_END folder and replace the PCConsoleTOC.bin file there.

Now, if you opened up <Origin games install folder>\Mass Effect 3\BIOGame\DLC\DLC_CON_END\CookedPCConsole and see only one file in there, the Default.sfar file, let me know.

Basically, since I made this mod, a lot has changed with me3explorer so the instructions are quite outdated.

If I do this, do I still have to copy over the BioSnd_End002 file into its place?

Yes. Still do copy BioSnd_End002 over the file of the same name in DLC_CON_JAM to make it all work properly.

The exploded default.sfar did turn out to be the problem and deager's fix worked perfectly.

Many thanks to MrFob, deager, John P, and Malukah, who is a fantastic musician, for adding the final parts that makes Mass Effect 3 a game I want to play again and again.

This is in no way a slight to the original MEHEM it let me enjoy a game I thought I'd never replay. John P's version (with the Extended Anderson Conversation), combined with deager's music changes though have given me an ending that I consider as close to a perfect finale that I could have hoped for.

Thanks for the post. I actually uploaded a ReadMe which covers the solution and can easily refer people to that.

It's been quite a ride doing all this modding. And then there's always WarrantyVoider and the entire me3explorer crew that gave any of us modders a chance to do what we've done. Although this particular mod will always remain a niche one, I'm fine with that. I hope the few of you who grab it will enjoy its change(s) to JAM.

Endorsed. Any chance you'd consider doing a mod to put the MEHEM credits music in JAM? I miss it but MEHEM is too much change for me (no catalyst) and is a pain to install. JAM and this mod were really simple.

I won't do the credit music and here's why. Malukah gave MrFob permission to use that song in MEHEM. I don't feel right releasing something publicly without permission from the creator of the content. This is also why I didn't include the 2 movie changes I suggest in the description. Yes, I understand that making mods without asking Bioware may seem hypocritical but I'd answer that if anyone is thinking I was being two-faced.

Now, I will not at all pretend that changing music is easy. Like, at all. But, if you or anyone reading this wants to know how, here are two links. The first covers it all, the second is explaining where I got stuck and how I figured it out.

Eh, another person asked and Malukah was nice enough to give permission. Reignite is now an option as well.

Thanks. Give it a try. My test was fine but someone else had a problem. It may be due to an exploded Default.sfar from texplorer (which I have a work-around for) but I haven't heard back to confirm if that's the problem.

I used to use MEHEM but now I use JAM and I think there was some music I liked and some I didn't. Do you have any links to the music used before and the music that plays after installing this mod? I know I could just try it and I probably will but knowing me I won't know where the difference is unless it's shoved in my face (or ears). I remember MEHEM had a different credits song (I think) which I liked. I take it this is not that...?

Right, this is not a credits music change like MEHEM did.

      Original JAM
It's the traditional EC ending music for Destroy, if you go that route, which I'm guessing you do.

OK so it's the same music without the drums, bells and brass? So... more strings and more emotional but less "triumphant''. Yep, I think I prefer it. Downloading now.
