I can't download Texmod, it says I have no internet connection ):
When I manually download from the link the program gives (it says uMod??? Is this supposed to be Texmod?) and extract the contents into the ME2 binary folder, the program still does not recognize Texmod as being installed.
Thanks for that! It seems with the closing of Google code, TexMod isn't being hosted in that particular place anymore. I'll do what I can and have a patch out as soon as possible.
This is probably not the thread to ask, but does anyone have a helpful guide on how to use texmod? I've used it a few months ago but i can't remember how to use it now
Also, a strange bug that happens to me occasionally when i use texmod is that, if i for example use a armor texture mod, sometimes, (this is completely random, have no idea why it happens) the texture will pop up, covering the screen, making the game unplayable. Is there any fix for this?
Hmm, I've had the issue myself before. I've had to recompile the texture mod to get it working right.
I'd suggest downloading Notepad++ and editing the texmod.def file, removing the black block with NULL inside it, then recompile. See if that helps.
I have a small "how-to" in the MELauncher help file. You can access this file from the main window by pressing the F1 key or from the Settings window by clicking on the "Help" button.
Lol, well I'm glad it intrigues you. I mainly built this application for myself, but decided to share it with the world. I hope it works out well for you. Any issues, I'm all ears! Let me know
Hey so I really like your program. Simple, but elegant. However I am having a bit of an issue. I followed the directions, the launcher found my install locations and allows me to enable texmod. But when I run ME3 from texmod none of my texture packages are applied. I don't know whats wrong. I'm able to install textures from ME3Explorer but I want to keep some permanent and some temporary, hence the use of Texmod. I've got origin configured correctly as well (no origin ingame or autoupdates) Any ideas?
I don't believe TexMod has a setting for permanently applying mods. You'd have to load them each time you start up TM.
If you don't know how to use TexMod, I do have an updated help file for MELauncher that goes into using TM. The help file update isn't in the official release, but if you'd like to download it, I've provided a link to do so. Just replace the current one in the MELauncher directory, and press F1 within MELauncher to open it.

I know how to use texmod because before i started using your launcher I did the manual renaming method. What's weird is that when I run texmod and tell it to load texture packages (with the ME3 executable targeted) when I go in game none of the packages are applied and everything is still vanilla textures. I already had a texmod.exe in the binaries folder of my ME3 directory that the launcher found. Should I move it to the installation directory of the launcher?
First, check the version of TexMod you're using. MELauncher uses 0.9b, which I believe hasn't changed in a really long time.
If your version doesn't match or you still can't get it to work, you can back up your TexMod files and allow MELauncher to install it itself and try that.
If all else, run MELauncher as administrator. By default, you need to be admin to make changes in the Program Files directory. Assuming Origin didn't overwrite this within the Origin Games directory, or you decided to install Mass Effect into another location than the default, this may be the issue. Running MELauncher will also force TexMod to run as administrator as it's a child process of MELauncher.
If that doesn't work, let me know, and I'll see what I can do. Best of luck though!
Hi, I have the Problem that the Launcher could't find Texmod. I tried to place it manually in the directory, I also tried the Downloadbutton, but it still says "TexMod not found" I have no Idea what I am doing wrong...
If you own Mass Effect through Steam, that might be why. Another reason would be admin access might be needed for MELauncher. I am beginning work on a new update that adds Steam support. Make sure the TexMod executable you place in the directory is labeled TexMod.exe as MELauncher looks for that name.
Good to hear. That issue arises because 99% of the time to change anything within the Program Files directory, you need admin rights. That issue is being addressed in the update though.

It's on the program and in the "Help" but the description only mentions 2 and 3.
