    GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Another year, another new announcement sticky. TMv1.0 announcements here. Older TMv2.0 announcements here.

    19 Jun 2017
**REQUIRED** patch for all TMv2.0-EGM users. The patch is very small and won't bor anything with currently installed textures. Make sure to read the install instructions CAREFULLY. Especially those of you using vF (who really shouldn't be).

    24 Apr 2017
The website will be getting an overhaul in preparation for TMv3.0. Please bear with me as I get all the content reformatted to work with the new layout. It will be a WIP for probably 1-2 months, so apologies for the mess!

    28 Feb 2017
Please note that some of Scottina's Armor and Clothing DLC mods are incompatible with ThaneMOD. To ensure TM overrides Scottina's mods, you must use v2.0+ of Jack Overhaul and v3.0+ of Jacob Overhaul. Earlier versions will override and break ThaneMOD. Scottina will be making MOD/TPF files to patch them with TM in the future. If you run into any problems, please direct them to him; I cannot answer any questions related to these mods. Thanks.

It's been a long time since I touched base here with a development update, so with the start of the new year it's definitely time. First a couple other details:
    • All TMv1.0 files have been removed. These are highly deprecated and incompatible with the current version of the toolset. Nobody should be using these.
    • ME3Re v2.0 users will have a slight incompatibility with TMv2.0. It's not something I'm going to patch due to the age of the mod, but it will be compatible once TMv3.0 is released.
    • TMv3.0 Development. See update in the description.

    BEFORE YOU POST

    1. If you want to share praise, thoughts, ideas, or thoughtful criticism you are welcome to post at any time. Most modders enjoy talking about their mods, myself included. Ideas should be posted with the expectation that I will give you my honest opinion and feedback. I will not tell you that I like your idea if I don't, and I tend not to sugarcoat. This does not mean that I don't enjoy hearing your ideas in the first place. I most certainly do :]

    2. If you have general questions about the mod, including: contents/gameplay changes, mod format, installation, load order, TOCing, localizations/translations, conflicts, compatibility, or similar topics, read the mod's release notes, install guide, all information on Nexus, and all "Learn" and "Help" articles on the website. Carefully and completely. They will answer 99.9% of these types of questions.

    3. If you have questions about Rondeeno's Same Sex Romance mods for the trilogy and compatibility with my mods, see this article on Nexus. Folks with questions about PEOM should head here.

    4. If you run into a problem while playing the mod, re-read all documentation in your download, on Nexus, and all "Learn" and "Help" articles on the website. Carefully and completely. The Troubleshooting page will walk you through how to determine if my mod is causing your issue and whether or not it's appropriate and worth your time (and mine) to post.

    5. If you are currently experiencing a technical issue in game, have come here for help, and are frustrated and angry, consider delaying your post until you're certain your temper is under control. This is a good life skill to have, and I have a zero tolerance policy for personal insults and cursing in my threads. Inability to restrain this type of behavior will result in a permanent ban from all my mods. This is your one and only warning.

    ---

Thanks for stopping in, and I hope you're enjoying ThaneMOD!

Hi. I don't post on a lot of mods but, I just finished my first playthrough with your Thane Mod and my mind is blown! The finesse in how you furthered the relationship was so heartfelt...I simply couldn't stop running to my cabin just to rekindle the memories. This is truly a mod to be deeply proud of, for all involved. Now I will be sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for the completion of V 3.0.

There is only one thing that would have taken this to a heavenly level, but since I have no idea how to mark something a spoiler I will keep it to myself. Understanding the limitations of having to work with existing voice and video I am not sure it could have been done or not anyways.

You have brought my Cas Shepard's love, Thane, back from the sea and she truly adores you for it.

Thank you for the kind words, trudeygirl. I appreciate it.

Hopefully, TM3 will fill in some of those missing pieces for you (and then some!) :)

I use version D, I downloaded the update files and Thane keeps dying no matter what. I get the email that he is off the station for medical treatment. He survived once but nothing was different that time.

Sorry I got busy and forgot to edit the post with more details. I forgot I added the Omega mod and Spectre Terminal mod, I guess those are the reason he keeps dying.

I couldn't say. No idea if those two mods are compatible or not, and simply telling me that "he dies" gives me no information at all to help.

If you want further help, see the "Before your Post" sticky, specifically the link to the Troubleshooting page of the website.

I figured out it was one of those 2 mods, causing interference. Thank you for the reply.

I followed the instructions to install this mod, but the emails are coming up as $900001. How do I fix this? Is it a problem with another mod I'm using? I dont use any texture mods.

Hey, I have a problem with scanning files with Texplorer.

I've done a clean reinstall of the entire ME3 N7 Digital Deluxe Edition + all DLC for that game I own on Origin. I followed your instructions very carefully and downloaded the correct version of me3explorer, have the Extended Cut DLC and the correct version of the game and everything. I then installed all content mods I want to use which are "Expanded Galaxy Mod", "CEMFull", "JAM", a "JAM to CEM" transition mod and "Miranda Mod". I then opened me3explorer.exe and tried to scan "Thane Mod" as well as the two Citadel DLC packages with Texplorer but the scan always gets stuck at 3000/ 3306 and stays there forever. I've tried to repeat this process a couple of times and it's always the same.

I'm not sure if maybe one of the Mods is the culprit but I don't know which one it could be. I've checked all the dates in\BIOGame\CookedPCConsole and \BIOGame\Movies before starting the installation and I just don't know what else to do and if at all possible I'd like to avoid reinstalling the entire game and all the DLC, yet again. Also, I'm not sure if that would even help since I don't know what the problem is and might just repeat the mistake.

JAM often causes a Texplorer hang in my install. If you keep the debug window open, the tool will tell you what file it's hanging on. So, first, make sure you know which mod and file is causing the problem. The hang can be worked around by temporarily removing the file if need be. All that will mean is that file won't get new textures.

As far as the instructions, keep in mind the mod description and sticky post. The supplied instructions for the toolset are outdated -- the mod is over 4 years old. Use ME3Explorer v3.0, which is the newest stable. Then, use the wiki that's linked in the toolset. None of that existed when the instructions for TM2 were written.

Let me know if you need more info troubleshooting your scan.

Hey there. Trying to install the mod right now and the instructions seem rather... outdated.

At least on the textures step.
For example my ME3Explorer seems to have v3.0 of TPF tools, not 2.0.
And when scanning only ThaneMod DLC, none of the thanemodv2_EWAC_new.tpf textures are found in the resulting tree, so none of them end up being valid, hence installable.
    Disclaimer: I am using v3.1.2.13 of ME3Explorer (ME3Tweaks fork).

And in any case, couldn't these textures be installed via the ALOT/MEM installer with much less hassle? Coincidentally it will also do the AutoTOC step.

Past that all I can over is general praise for taking the time to mod the game. I've yet to try the mod in-game.

-You should read the mod description. It discusses the outdated instructions.
-I don't offer support MEM, but, if you want to try installing via that method, you can.
-No idea why your scan isn't finding the textures in the tree. Mine finds them just fine (main repo, not ME3Tweaks fork). Try rescanning.

Thanks for the mod. How do i remove the extended Anderson part from 2b? I'm planning to use PEOM which states that i shouldn't have the Anderson mod.

Edit: Looked into it a bit more, do i just delete the "BioD_End002_300TIMConflict_LOC_INT.pcc" file?

It doesn't matter. PEOM is set to override most other story mods for the game, so any redundant files in its directory will override TM's. You can _have_ Extended Anderson installed. PEOM will override all it's changes.

Also, I hope you aren't using MEHEM, BackOff, or LIME, as all conflict with PEOM. Technically, ME3Re does also, but it's minor. PEOM will take priority, overriding the other mod's content and there are no compatibility patches. FYI, PEOM will also conflict in a more substantial manner with TM3.

      It's coming... slowly.

There's no specific release date at this point. Every time I give one I overshoot, so it will be released when it's ready. Beyond that, register on the forums if you want to more closely monitor progress, or check the website/tumblr periodically. I communicate more about development on those 3 sites than I do on Nexus itself :)

    Hi,

After the illusive man shoots himself in the head after convincing him that what he did was unforgivable towards humanities progress, my game just crashes. i've got MEHEM and Anderson extended mod along with lot of texture and others. I'm so close to finishing the game yet i keep crashing every time. Please help.

NOTE: I installed thane mod and messages from than are nothing but a $90000071.

I know this is an old post but I just completed a playthrough of the game and experienced the same issue, turns out a lot corrupted the file DLC_CON_THANEMOD/CookedPCConsole/BioD_End002_500Choice.pcc, overwriting it again with the file from the ThaneMOD v2.0.1 Patch in the MEHEM_v05_Patch folder fixed it, nothing weird seems to have happened doing this but YMMV.

Check ME3Log.txt in your Win32 folder (where MassEffect3.exe is) if you have the ME3Logger asi mod and it should tell you what caused the crash. Also you can use ME3 Save Editor to make a permanent copy of the autosave right before the dialogue with the Illusive Man so you don't have to keep replaying the section before it every time it crashes.

I had a similar issue with all the ThaneMOD related stuff being replaced with $900001 and such. I tried your fix, and it didn't work. But what did work for me was running the EGM ThaneMOD compatibility program a second time AFTER installing ALOT.
