The First Issue:

ME3Recalibrated

Same-Gender Romances for ME3 and ME3Recalibrated alter two of the same pcc file(s):

BioD_CitHub_UnderbellyP3.pcc
BioD_CitHub_UnderbellyP3_LOC_INT.pcc

ME3Recalibrated alters these files in order to restore full functionality to Zaeed Massani's dialogue at the Docks: Holding Area on the Citadel.

Same-Gender Romances for ME3  alters these files in order to unlock Ashley William's romance dialogue at the memorial wall for female Shepard.

I've been told one mod will ultimately take precedence over the other if both are installed at the same time. However, with both mods installed, I experienced extreme glitches while visiting the Docks: Holding area and it made the game virtually unplayable in that zone
 


The Second Issue:

EGM Extras - Liara Conversation Post Coup

Same-Gender Romances for ME3 and EGM Extra's alter some of the same pcc file(s):

BioD_Nor_320Lounge_Crit.pcc
BioD_Nor_320Lounge_Crit_LOC_INT.pcc

EGM Extras alters these files in order to restore a brief conversation between Liara and Shepard in the Normandy's lounge after the Citadel Coup.

Same-Gender Romances alters these files in order to unlock Tali's romance dialogue for female Shepard in the Normandy's lounge after Sanctuary.
If you are romancing Ashley as female Shepard, Liara's Conversation is restored by the Same-Gender Romances mod as well.

I've been told one mod will ultimately take precedence over the other if both are installed at the same time. I'm uncertain if other instabilities will also occur.

Note: I will not be addressing compatibility fixes for any other selections provided by EGM Extras. The reason being, I don't use them and therefore am not familiar with any issues that may, or may not. arise. It's possible the following methods would work in a similar fashion, but I can't guarantee that.


The Fix:

ME3Recalibrated

Technically you can't have both. I do not have the expertise to walk you through making a full compatibility patch, but I can help you with a workaround.

The easiest way to solve this problem is to delete the two pcc files mentioned above from either the ME3Recalibrated or the Same-Gender Romances DLC folder. This means you need to decide which one is more important for you to have.

For Example:

If you have no intention of ever romancing Ashley, delete the pcc files from the Same-Gender Romances folder (DLC_MOD_SameGender)


Alternatively, if you do intend to romance Ashley as a Female Shepard, delete the pcc files from the ME3Recalibrated folder (DLC_MOD_ME3RE)


But wait...there's more. What if you have multiple Shepard personas you play through who have a myriad of romantic partners? Must all your Shepard's suffer the loss of the salty old mercenary veteran's dynamic dialogue?

Technically, no, you don't. This solution is a little more in depth, but still relatively simple. Continue reading if this interests you. If not, you're done!

In preparation for the next step you will need to delete the following pcc files from the DLC_MOD_ME3RE folder and leave DLC_MOD_SameGender alone.

EGM Extras - Liara Conversation Post Coup

You can't simply delete files from this mod like you can with ME3Recalibrated, but there is another way around the problem. Continue reading if you're interested.

Part 1
Any Way You Want It:

Restored Zaeed Conversation

1. Install the Restored Zaeed Conversation mod 
2. When you are playing a Shepard who will be taking advantage of the Same-Gender Romance mod, temporarily disable the  DLC_EXP_Zaeed by renaming it something like X_DLC_EXP_Zaeed
3. Run AutoToc after disabling X_DLC_EXP_Zaeed

4. Love who you wanna love!

If you want to switch back to a more conventional Shepard who aims to pursue a vanilla romance, there's no reason to miss out on Massani's conversation.

5. In this case, simply enable the X_DLC_EXP_Zaeed folder by removing the "X_" from the beginning of the name
6. You'll need to temporarily disable the  DLC_MOD_SameGender by renaming it something like X_DLC_MOD_SameGender
7. Run AutoToc after enabling DLC_EXP_Zaeed and disabling X_DLC_MOD_SameGender

8. Enjoy your salty comrade to the fullest!

EGM Extras - Liara Conversation Post Coup


1. Install the EGM Extras optional via installer and select "Extra Conversation" Only!
2. When you are playing a Shepard who will be taking advantage of the Same-Gender Romance mod, temporarily disable the  DLC_MOD_EGM_Extra by renaming it something like X_DLC_MOD_EGM_Extra
3. Run AutoToc after disabling X_DLC_MOD_EGM_Extra

4. Love who you wanna love!

If you want to switch back to a more conventional Shepard who aims to pursue a vanilla romance, there's no reason to miss out on Liara's conversation.

Note: If you use ALOT and/or build texture trees using MEM or ME3Explorer, make sure to have ALL mods enabled before building your texture tree(s). Disabling mods should be your last step in order to customize your particular play through. If you need to install any  tpf, mem, or mod files later on, simply enable all mods again and proceed as normal. Don't forget to disable the conflicting mod(s) afterwards.

Part 2
Getting GUI:

I do not know enough about what goes on underneath the hood of the Mod Manager's conflict detector and GUI patch construction to confidently say you only need one patch if you are using both EGM Extras and ME3Recalibrated. I've always constructed two separate GUI patches for each set of mods that I use, as not all mods will be active at any one time while playing. Because this is the only method I've tested, it's the only one I'll be explaining in this tutorial.  

If you use SP Controller with any other mods, you hopefully know about generating GUI Compatibility Patches. Because you'll be disabling one mod in favor of another, you'll need to generate two separate GUI patches. One for whens Same-Gender Romances is active and another for when Restored Zaeed Conversation is active.

9.  After all of your desired mods are installed, disable DLC_MOD_SameGender by renaming it something like X_DLC_MOD_SameGender 
10  Open Mod Manager
11. Click on the Mod Management tab and select "Custom DLC Conflict Detector" from the drop down menu
12. Wait for the conflict scan to complete
13. If conflicts are detected, click on the bottom button to proceed
14.  Name the Patch something like GUI_COMP_EZ (EZ: Extras+Zaeed)
15.  Follow the prompts to generate a GUI compatibility patch
16.  Do NOT apply the newly generated GUI patch yet!

17. Enable DLC_MOD_SameGender
18. Disable DLC_EXP_Zaeed and/or DLC_MOD_EGM_Extra by renaming them something like X_DLC_EXP_Zaeed and or X_DLC_MOD_EGM_Extra
19. Open Mod Manager
20. Click on the Mod Management tab and select "Custom DLC Conflict Detector" from the drop down menu
21. Wait for the conflict scan to complete
23. If conflicts are detected, click on the bottom button to proceed
23. Name the Patch something like GUI_COMP_SG (SG: Same Gender)
24. Follow the prompts to generate a GUI compatibility patch
25. Do NOT apply the newly generated GUI patch yet!

Note: Before continuing, there are some special considerations to take into account. If you will be using ALOT and/or build texture trees using MEM or ME3Explorer, ALL mods (GUI Patches included) should be enabled prior to doing so. After you build your trees and/or install ALOT, you'll need to decide which mods you need to disable for your play through.
