Fantastic mod! Really makes the game a TON more bearable (especially on newer systems!)
This mod works with my copy of ME2 (2010) running on Proton (steam Linux). It already had two mods applied (NoMiniGames and NoVingette). I have not yet run into any issues, though I will respond & update if I have any (Other loading-screen mods have had issues with specific cutscenes, I will keep an eye out and report if encountered.)
Double-clicking the EXE opened just fine (I already had Wine configured), and the only "hard part" was to tell the program to point at the ME2 directory.
For me (because it was on a separate drive mount) it was:
When the mod says it is not compatible with ALOV, I am assuming this means that ALOV works on non loading screen sections as intended, but then installing this after replaces the files it replaces. OR is it that the way the mods interacts actually can cause problems?
Just curious, as I would rather have the higher fidelity ALOV vids and loading screen (even if it means waiting longer), but do recognize that this mod is a great one and deserves to be recognized regardless of use.
Thank you for your comment and interest, it forced me to do the work to verify things which I will clarify.
4X FASTER was built for use with the vanilla game before ALOV arrived on the scene. 4X FASTER retimes the existing loading screens to be 60fps thereby speeding them up.
ALOV has implemented the 60fps re-time with the speed up like 4X FASTER did and upscaled the videos for better quality.
ALOV supplants the 4X FASTER mod, if you download and instal it.
There is no reason not to use ALOV unless you are short on drive space or bandwidth.
If you don't install ALOV, then 4X FASTER (this mod) is still a valid solution for the vanilla game.
If you run this 4X FASTER mod after you've installed ALOV, you will not notice any difference, I've checked - it doesn't break anything but doesn't give you any benefit either.
I hope I did not put too much work on you. I really appreciate the response and I went ahead and shared with friends I know that you were super helpful. I know it is not much, but credit where credit is due I still think this was a really cool idea and well done.
Just as a heads-up to anyone who's also playing with the Ultrawide Mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/masseffect2/mods/229). Be sure to install it *after* installing this mod, otherwise the HUD will be all zoomed in and broken.
This mod increases the fps (reducing the duration) of the animations that play during loading time, which you are forced to watch regardless of how fast your system loads the next 'level'.
Can't complete Kasumi's loyalty mission. :/ After the 'mission over' summary screen, the loading screen goes black and the game gets stuck. Other two mods I'm using are ME2Recalibrated and ALOT, but I think it's safe to assume those aren't the culprits.
Edit: maybe it isn't related to this mod, because a bunch of people have been having this issue for years. Here's the fix that worked for me (step 6): https://answers.ea.com/t5/Mass-Effect-2/Solved-PC-Kasumi-Stolen-Memory-DLC-Crashing-at-the-end-of/td-p/347550
Hello - I seem to be having a problem with this mod. When I try to run the .exe, nothing at all happens. The first time I also got a message "a program caused an issue with the default program to open .wma files, it has been reset" or something along those lines, but that might not have been related. What can I do to fix this? Thank you
Edit: I used the old manual version rather than the .exe and it seems to have worked. Although I still don't know what happened, at least I got the mod working. Thanks!

Thanks again for this mod. Great work!
ALOV 4K runs at 30fps in loading screens. not 60fps. I just checked with RivaTuner On-Screen-Display + Msi Afterburner.
I wonder if your mod improves ALOV 30fps to 60fps.
