As I understand it, these tweaks do not work with the LE version, I installed the game on disk D, there is no config folder on disk C, I tried to change the BIOEngine.ini parameters on disk D and ticked "read only", but this does not help and nothing changes in the game, maybe someone knows how to fix it?
I came across the same problem actually, I wanted to use the tweaks pre-ALOT but that error keep coming up when I started the game.
I found the solution actually and it's very simple: go to the [TextureLODSettings] section of your BIOEngine.ini file and you have to change the MinLODSize of all the texturegroups there back to their original settings. Just the MinLODSize nothing else is needed, and remember to save and mark as 'read-only' when done. If you have made a back up this just involves pulling that up and changing your modified BIOEngine file to those old values. I hope this makes sense! If you don't know the old values I can paste them into the comments if needed.
It seem that even though I download the main file without the ALOT compatibility file, it's settings are for textures that have the resolution of ALOT textures and not the vanilla game. This is why the game crashes at start up - because the game cannot find the textures the .ini is telling it to use.
EDIT: Turns out that start-up was fine, but when I loaded my game, the same type of crash happened. If this happens to you too, then what you need to do to fix it is to revert your ALL of your texture group settings back to the original. Both Min and Max. I suspect this was because my settings were on ultra high and my game tried to use the max resolution texture, which doesn't exist. Despite this little setback though, my game looks SO much better I can't believe it. If you are like me and hate how dark and tinted the original games was, this will fix all of that. Thank you so much for the mod!
Can you share what the originals are? I tried renaming my bioengine.ini and letting the game recreate the original on boot.it came up with the same values. I still get the crash if the file is set to read only.
A few months late, but I'm starting from a fresh install and the only changed value that I can see in TextureLODSettings is in this line:
Original: TEXTUREGROUP_World=(MinLODSize=2048,MaxLODSize=4096,LODBias=0) This mod's INI (using the ALOT MEUITM compatible file): TEXTUREGROUP_World=(MinLODSize=4096,MaxLODSize=4096,LODBias=0)
Great mod, I just finished my install but I've ran around with it a bit to check for any issue and I found none. It does what it says, the game looks great and I saw the changes immediately,, it got my resolution fixed immediately too and I'm still running at 60 FPS despite all the mods added, this one included. Thanks for the work!
Does anyone know how to fix saved game files? I can't resume or load a saved game file even though I already saved a game, on main menu. EA is not answering my messages and I am hoping that maybe some of you might have experienced this problem and might have know how to fix this. Thank you
The game looks much better but on world maps I have a problem where the light would retexture the terrain as I advance with the Mako, anyone knows how can I fix this?
Hello everyone! Thanks for the detailed graphics settings. Please help me I have problems with the game. The fact is that the video card is used by only 5 percent during the game, and the percent is almost one hundred percent, 4 cores. That is, I realized that instead of a video card, the game uses only percent, what help do ?! With M2 and M3, everything is fine. I have an original (license)! Permissions 2560 by 1440, video card 980 Ti, processor i9 (8 cores). It is impossible to play 10 fps, and the video card is idle ??!

pops up =(
on launch using non alot version
Ik its in beta but it should still work no?
But just like his gameplay tweaks, OP prefers quantity and FUD over quality.
How to make sure that footprints on the ground do not disappear so quickly?
What's this about? Works fine when not read only (but defeats the purpose of this mod of course)

Original:
TEXTUREGROUP_World=(MinLODSize=2048,MaxLODSize=4096,LODBias=0)
This mod's INI (using the ALOT MEUITM compatible file):
TEXTUREGROUP_World=(MinLODSize=4096,MaxLODSize=4096,LODBias=0)
Everything else in there seems to be the same.
