I'm tired of answering questions that are already in the FAQ. Or helping people that didn't follow the instructions. RTFM before posting anything !
If your post is removed, you know why.

If you have a legitimate issue not answered in the FAQ :
    - Make sure it's not answered in the FAQ (see description)
    - Make sure it's not answered in the tutorial
If both the above don't cover your issue, please open a bug report in the Nexus bug section :
    - Send the links to the log and diagnostic of your Installer. See how to upload a log and make a diagnostic.
    - If the issue is texture-related, send screenshots and a save game where it can easily be seen.
    - Pirated games aren't supported. They may or may not work.

IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE MOD, READ THIS POST !
Then, and only then, write a comment or come on Discord if you still need help. Please. Help us keep our sanity.

So, I was hoping to get my bi-annual Mass Effect Trilogy running for the year, and I used a lot for my last trilogy run and don't think that I could ever play without it again. I downloaded the new a lot file for ME1, restored ME1 from my backup, started up the a lot Installer, got all the files the installer told me to grab, and I went to install everything, but I get an error message saying that "a lot Addon for Mass Effect was built, but had errors. Some files had errors occurred during the build process. These files were skipped. Your game may look strange in some parts if you use the built Addon. You should report to the developers in Discord." So, I hit Okay, but then the installer screen doesn't pop up on the program. At the top of the screen after leaving that screen said "The Addon was built but some files did not process correctly and were skipped. The MEM packages for the addon have been placed into the MEM_Packages Directory."

I thought, maybe it was whichever mods that were error-ing that were the problem. So, I removed a couple of mods, found what was the problem, and tried to install the Addon without those mods, and got another error, where the installer wouldn't load again. "An Error occurred building the Addon. View the log for more information." So, I zipped up that log, and was hoping for some help. Where do I need to upload that log for help? Thanks for everything.

Edit: I should also say that #6 in the FAQ sounds like my problem, but I don't have either of those two programs installed, and I tried installing the framework, but it said that I already have it. So, I'm kind of at a loss.

Thanks for the quick reply! So, I tried to follow the instructions before posting last night and noticed that I didn't have a button to upload the log, only zip it up. Once I read your message, I went back to that and noticed that I had a different a lot Installer version than the one in the gif. Then, it all came together, and I've fixed my problem.

For posterity's sake, I'll give a quick rundown. So, when I noticed that my a lot Installer was out of date, I unzipped the a lot zip we can download from here and launched the Installer from there. Then, I moved all of my addon files for ME1 from the folders that I used when I last modded ME a couple years ago to the new downloaded_mods folder, started the install for ME1, and it worked like a charm. Turns out, it was more than likely one of the mods that I had leftover from a couple years ago in my original a lot folder was conflicting with one of the new mods that the Installer is using this year, which is probably why the Installer wasn't working as intended.

So, I guess what I need to do from now on, every time I want to download a new a lot is to completely clean out my folders from the install before because using my old, cluttered folders turned out to be the problem. So, thank you for the quick help that was basically just pointing out how I messed up! Nice and easy. Keep up the fantastic work; I don't think that I could play the Trilogy anymore without these textures. The games are just stunning.

Wow! Thanks so much for the big update! I already started playing, but have no problem to do all the installations again.

[*UPDATE*] After installing the new version, i have some stutter (Citadel) when i'm walking around (microfreezes). I have 8GB of VRAM, and my MassEffect.exe is large address aware, but i'm suspecting the issue is because of textures (or geometry?) loading.

Is this a known issue? Would FAQ #7 help me fix the stutters?

First, disable Origin's in-game overlay. It more than halved my FPS. A 1080 struggled to maintain 30 FPS with it enabled.

Thanks, but it's already disabled. I always disable useless stuff in digistore games. :)

I used the suggestion #7 in the FAQ, and i think it helped. From time to time there is a "Loading" sign popping on the screen, but i think this is normal.

It works. How about reading the instructions and telling us what exactly goes wrong ?

Just wanted to point out that using the option 4x = [4x Multisampling] on Antialiasing - Setting on the nvidia profile inspector, as instructed here: https://ghostbin.com/paste/qqnwp, causes a visual bug anywhere on the game (https://imgur.com/a/T89Zpvd), at least on an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 (driver version 418.81) on a legitimate Mass Effect Origin copy.

I'm having a texture issue in Noveria, when entering the garage at Peak 15 after the MAKO ride. The textures get all blocky and black on all characters and destructible environment like boxes.

    Here's some pictures:
    https://imgur.com/a/6ROJ4vC

Running original Mass Effect 1 from Steam.

    MODS:
    - Mass Effect 1: Recalibrated
    - Same-Sex Romances for ME1 + Optional Files (Same-Sex LI Activates Beacon & NPCs Flirt Regardless of Gender)
    - A Lot of Textures (a lot) + Optional Files
    - MEUITM (Installed through a lot) + Reshade + Soft Shadows

Everything is updated and was installed today on a freshly installed ME.

EDIT: I restored to a backup with no texture MODS, and it happened again. I hope my save is not corrupted. This is a game breaking bug.

EDIT 2: So apparently this is a very old bug, not related to the MODS but to the game itself. Mass Effect 1 uses AMD 3DNow which is no longer supported (since 2010) in the AMD CPUs. I have an AMD FX-8320, so that's the reason.

To fix it you can either install "FPS Counter And Post Processing Effects" which I'm not sure if is compatible with ALOT/MEUITM, or enable the developers console and type "viewmode unlit" until the end of the compromised missions.

Here's some references and discussions regarding this bug, explanation of the cause, and the source of the fix I mentioned:

Note that FPS Counter & Reshade/ENB/SweetFX et al are incompatible (both hook into DirectX) so if you need FPS Counter, you won't be able to use any of those types of enhancements (fortunately, FPS Counter does include some stuff itself).

It is otherwise completely compatible with texture mods.

There is a bug with the current version of MEM. To fix, delete masseffectmoddernogui.exe in A.L.O.T Installer folder/data/bin and restart the Installer. Then reinstall the game and A.L.O.T.

May i ask: Why does the A.L.O.T. installer delete my downloaded textures, and if not, were does it copy them? I spent a considerable amount of the day downloading MEUITM, and A.L.O.T. just removed it from my download location. Did i miss something?

Oh, i see. Somehow i missed it. The confusion started when ALOTAddonBuilder.exe deleted itself - very unusual behavior. But all is good now.

Thank you for the help, and for making Mass Effect better!

I found the answer, but couldn't delete the post.

A.L.O.T for ME1 is intended to work with MEUITM. It doesn't have many textures, it adds upon MEUITM.

I didn't know if I needed MEUITM installed in order for a lot to work, but now I know that it's supposed to work together with it.
