I'd recommend the mod author to get back to this mod, I dont care how hard it is, it completely changes the way the game plays. Fix the crashes and add more!
slightly cheeky right? to say that you don't care how difficult it is, modding is not just a thing..... it's a lot of work, but maybe you can surprise us and fix it yourself..... that would be nice what or? otherwise you just have to respect it like the rest of us when a modder withdraws from a project
half of people on nexus seem to not know how to extract a file,let alone make a mod. idk how people do these crazy mods.i would know nothing of it . i tried computer class with technical crap and it never made sense to me

Tips on how to play Free Ride Mode with Free Ride Deluxe for longer sessions without lag or crashes
1. The only way to fix the lag in the game is to run the game in Borderless Windowed Mode. Here's how to do it while also fixing the game windownot being in the center of the screen during Borderless Windowed Mode:
1A - Go to your Steam Library and right-click on Mafia DE and select "Properties" and choose "Create desktop shortcut". You can also go directly to your Mafia DE game folder and find the "mafiadefinitiveedition.exe" file and right-click on it and select "Create shortcut". 1B - Right-click the shortcut you just made and select "Properties". 1C - Under the "Shortcut" Tab, find the "Run" option and set it to "Maximized". 1D - While still in mafiadefinitiveedition.exe Properties, go to "Compatibility" Tab and select "Change high DPI settings". 1E - Find "High DPI scaling override" and tick the checkbox on it and select "Application" on the dropdown menu. 1F - Click "Ok" then click "Apply" then click "Ok" again. 1G - Run the game and while the game is running, right-click on your desktop taskbar and select "Taskbar settings". You may have to Alt-Tab the game to do this. 1H - Turn ON / OFF and then turn OFF / ON the "Automatically hide the taskbar in desktop mode". This will make the game window run in fullscreen despite it being in Borderless Windowed Mode without the desktop taskbar appearing and without any vacant spaces on your screen where you can still see a bit of your desktop background on one side of your screen. You need to do this step every time you run thegame unfortunately since this is the only way you can run the game without any vacant spaces in any one side of your screen. 1I - Go back to Mafia DE and go to Options > Display and set both Fullscreen & Window Borders to OFF. 1J - Done!
2. If you plan on messing around Free Ride Mode with Free Ride Deluxe + other Scripthook mods (like Scripthook Revamped, Assassination Contracts - Freeride, Vehicle Workshop, & Public Transport Restoration Mod) installed for more than 1 hour, then the best way to make sure that your Free Ride Mode experience runs smoothly without much crashes is to install NOMAD Scripthook, Free Ride Deluxe, and all other Scripthook mods + all other mods on a freshly installed copy of Mafia DE that you never opened at all (not even once).
3. Try not to use the following Scripthook Trainer options too much: - Teleport - Environment - Game World since they tend to make the game crash due to having to abruptly reload all assets in the teleported area without a proper loading screen or it abruptly makes huge changes in the general map. Use the "Call a Taxi" option instead on the Phone Services if you want to teleport to different areas in the map.
4. As much as possible, try to use the Bodyguard Spawner instead of the "Call a Friend" feature from the Phone Services as it helps prevent the game from potentially crashing randomly for much longer. Make sure to use the Correct Bodyguard Spawn Profiles mod ( https://www.nexusmods.com/mafiadefinitiveedition/mods/105?tab=files ) in order to have a better selection of bodyguards you can spawn.
I have already tested the mod for several days. Each script, one by one. You can disable certain .lua scripts. And even if you disable all except the main menu script, the game crashes. In short, your guide won't change anything at all, since the error is already in the init script. It's like all great mods here on Nexus. The games get a last update but the creators of a mod don't care and they let the mod die in the penultimate version.
@rataje - Just tried to help. Why the mod has issues and / or won't work for many people is not my problem since it's already beyond my jurisdiction and skill as I am NOT the creator nor a helper in creating the mod in any way.
That's just how it is in modding games. Sometimes the mod gets updated alongside the latest game updates, sometimes they don't. You just learn to accept and live with both outcomes, especially the latter.
I am using this recently, and after downloading the latest scripthook, this, and first person mod, it all works flawless, without crashes and runs without frame issues in fullscreen mode, make sure you start the game and launch freeride from the main menu and not the scripthook menu for it to work as well, and make sure your scripthook is the latest, also that you follow the readme's for each mod; this is also on a fresh install of mafia.
