How to install this fix?
Unpack zip file into your game directory and agree to replace the files.
You can open your game directory in steam client - select on Mafia 2 (Classic) in steam client, click on the cog icon, then select manage tab and then click Browse local files. It will open your game location in the new windows explorer window.
