Note:
To install this modpack, you'll need the original Mafia (v1.0 - v1.2 Steam or GOG).
Description:
Mafia Remastered mod. This is a collection of mods that improve graphic component of Mafia. All mods are carefully selected to maintain the game's atmosphere.
Installation:
1. Unzip the mod folder with 7-zip or WinRar.
2. Place the contents of the mod to your Mafia game directory where the game.exe is located
D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Mafia\Mafia
3. Simply run the .exe progam
(FAQ) Frequently asked questions:
Q1: Game takes long to load?
A: Loading should not take more than 3 minutes! Go to the 'models' folder in your game directory and delete !Tommy located in D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Mafia\mafia\mafia\models
Q2: Game runs choppy / slow?
A: You should NOT install this mod if your computer does not have a graphics card. If the HD textures are too much for your PC then run 'setup.exe' and lower the resolution, it will run more smooth!
Q3: Nothing has changed after installing?
1. Go to the 'models' folder in your game directory and delete !Tommy
2. If still no changes to your game then it means you selected the wrong destination folder when installing the mod.
It should be installed inside the Mafia game folder "D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Mafia\mafia" and not "common\Mafia".
Make sure you select the "mafia" game directory when you install the mod. In my case I have the installation on drive D, so the path was "D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Mafia\Mafia"
After reinstalling in the new location it should work perfectly.
Q4: Game still has blackbars in cutscenes?
A: Don't install the widescreen fix from the Mafia Community Modpack. If you already did then go the 'scripts' folder and delete the two files and download Mafia Draw Distance - Widescreen Fix - Cutscene Black Bar Removal.
Q5: I get error "Init error 3075, data not found" when launching the game?
A: You installed the wrong version. Make sure in the setup you select Steam if you have the game on Steam.
Q6: How can I remove the shininess from all vehicles like you did for your Mafia missions walkthrough?
A: Run 'setup.exe' and toggle both options for 'True Color'.
