About this image

When I made my recent return to Lord of the Rings Online, I saw a lot of buzz on the World chat channel of the wedding of Aragorn and Arwen being forthcoming. As a massive Lord of the Rings fan, I was determined to see this happen live if nothing else (since my absence between 2011 and today left a lot of the action in Moria, Lorien, Mirkwood, Rohan, Gondor, Wilderland, and elsewhere as "catch-up" leveling content). Today, after a long and arduous attempt to force myself to play again - battling the apathetic malaise brought on by the global shutdown caused by the virus - I decided to do the wedding quest-line and see it firsthand.

It was everything I could have hoped and then some (Gandalf saying words of memorial for Theoden, Boromir, and Denethor hit me in the feels). The wedding was perfect, and I could not help but grow misty-eyed while listening to this song from the credits of the Peter Jackson films: whose message, apart from being specific to the end of the War of the Ring, also resonated with me in 2020 of the Seventh Age.
