Experience this classic game with sharper graphics!
I reworked/updated over 350 textures for this game to make it look nicer. I used the original textures as a basis to keep the look as close to the original as possible, plus for character textures I used elements of the ones in Defiance to unify the looks and add more detail. There's a lock on maximum texture resolution, so I couldn't work miracles, but I think it's still a nice upgrade.

v1.11 Update
I've made a lot of texture packs since this one and learned a lot, so I went back & reworked some of the textures for more details & better quality.
All main characters updated+some environment textures.

What's in the pack?
The pack contains two files you can use with Texmod. (I know, not everyone likes it, but that's the only program I know how to use. I'm happy to collaborate with people who can make easier to use packages.)

• The first file contains sharper, more detailed textures for Raziel plus a bunch of high(er) resolution textures for the other major characters that I created using the original textures from the game. These are far from comprehensive, I didn't have time to repaint every texture by hand, but it's still nice to see a bunch of sharper textures in the game 20+ years later.
• File #2 contains upscaled textures for the environment & FX, feel free to decide whether you want to use these with or without the first file. There is also a sharper menu font.
• As a little extra, I added a ReShade preset with some mild lighting/bloom/sharpen filters. You can find it in Optional Files.

How to use:
0. Texmod only worked with my Steam copy once I downloaded the SoulFixer .dll patch, so PLEASE begin with that. You can find it here:

I recommend using it anyway, it fixes compatibility, widescreen and resolution issues. It's just one file you need to extract into the game's installation folder.
1. Download my mod and unzip it to a folder of your choosing.
2. Download Texmod: https://www.moddb.com/downloads/texmod4
3. Unzip it anywhere and open Texmod.exe
4. Click the big Folder button under Target Application and select sr2.exe in your SR2 installation folder.
(e.g. if you have a Steam copy: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver 2)
5. On The Package Mode tab click the little folder button and add one or both of my .tpf files.
6. Click Run.

That's it! You're good to go.
(It might take a few seconds longer for the game to launch while it loads the new textures.)
You'll have to repeat steps 3-6 every time you start the game, but it will go much faster the second time.
If you have a Steam copy of the game and it fails to launch, try copying Steam.dll into the game's installation folder.
