Dark Souls supported in Nexus Mod Manager

  • Comment
It is with great pleasure that I announce that the latest version of the Nexus Mod Manager (NMM) now has support for Dark Souls modding, straight off of Dark Souls Nexus. What does this mean? In a nut-shell, you can now click the “Download with manager” button and have NMM automatically download the file in question and install it in to the proper texture over-ride directory, with no hassle.

As Dark Souls modding requires Durante’s DSFix utility in order to work, we’ve programmed some checks in to NMM to ensure that you have DSFix installed properly before you can use NMM for Dark Souls.

If you’re a mod author it’s really easy to get your files working with NMM. All you need to ensure you do is package up your mod so that the texture overrides are in the root directory of your archive. NMM coder DuskDweller has a bit more information about this on the forums. NMM will only work with texture override files and mods (files that need to be placed in the override folder in order to work) so if you're uploading utilities or files that don't go in the texture override folder, ensure you turn off the NMM options when uploading to prevent users getting confused.

If you find any bugs please report them in our NMM bug tracker or on the forums and we’ll look in to it for you.

It also says DINPUT8.dll is missing for me. It is in the correct folder, and I have the latest version of dsfix installed. Please fix this, as I expect the software I download to work correctly.

NMM checks for DSfix files (you need DSfix 1.2 or later) in the same folder of the game executable (DARKSOULS.exe), make sure you set the right folder during the Game Detection process (try rescanning for installed games).

If you still have problems please post in the Bug reports forum, not here.

Am having the same issue as EmLeingod

NMM wants the DATA folder as the game folder, as this is where the .EXE is located, but apparently it does not look there for the DINPUT8.dll as intended...

    A.W.E.S.O.M.E.-O!!!
    P.S.
One question: do i have to change things in the .ini file (if a mod description tells so) or is NMM doing it by itself?
