    Big Bad Sound Mod

    Last Update: 20 Apr 2016

Though very rare in the Knights of the Old Republic as I discovered over three years ago when I first learned how to mod the game, sound mods have been very popular downloads so you would think others would have tried their attempts. New sound additions to replace default sounds can really enhance and add enjoyment playing a video game. Oddball_E8 makes his FileFront debut to add new types of sounds into the first Knights of the Old Republic game. It can be hard to describe what youre getting in new sounds, but I can tell you that most of them are different from any of the sound mods Ive ever released, so if youre looking for something new again or havent tried one out yet, you could give this a try. What you will get is some new blaster sounds, close combat sounds, grenade sounds, impact sounds, and lightsaber sounds. One of the highlights of the new lightsaber sounds are the new clash sounds and you have Count Dookus lightsaber on sound when he first turned his lightsaber on to fight Obi-Wan Kenobi at the Geonosis hangar (the rest of the time Dookus lightsaber made the traditional Sith on sound). The grenade sounds really sound like loud explosions, so if youre looking at having something that sounds like it gave a big hurt, you may want to look into this. The new sword sounds really have loud impact sounds that really make the combat sound intense. The blaster sounds are interesting enough; my favorite has to be the second power blast shot; very cool. If youre whining and crying already that this mod was released for the first Knights of the Old Republic game, fear not. This mod can be installed into Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords and the sounds will work there too. Hopefully people will read the review and not jump the gun on questions. Enjoy the new sound mod! Note: Please leave the author feedback, especially if you download this mod and use it. It really helps encourage the author to make more mods in the future. -Shem

    Jedi From the Start (0.6)

    Last Update: 20 Apr 2016

darthbdaman brings us a new mod based on Achilles' Padawan mod. As the title suggests, this mod (and Achilles' before it) allows the player to begin the game as a Jedi on the Endar Spire. This mod has full alien voice-over for Trask (in the mod, a twilek Jedi), the dialogue for the mod has been expanded to remove all of the old tutorial elements. The player may also encounter a dark Jedi in the second half of the Endar Spire. The player ends the Endar Spire with one light Jedi robe, one Dark Jedi robe, a violet lightsaber crystal, a red lightsaber crystal, and a short lightsaber. This is a v0.6, and future versions promise the story continuing on Taris and Trask fighting Bandon with a lightsaber. The mod is well-made and has no obvious bugs or errors in its construction. The dialogue is reasonably written, though a slightly closer attention to syntax and punctuation might be preferable. Another area for the author to consider expanding the mod would be in granting greater player choice and consequence, which always adds replayability and fun-factor to a game narrative. Trask might be given a rather more distinct narrative voice as a character. The TSLPatcher might also smooth over any potential incompatibilities with other mods that might exist with the final version, and might also ease installation somewhat. Nevertheless, overall there is nothing actually wrong with this mod - it is, as has been said, competently executed and put together. The removal of all the tutorial elements from the Endar Spire is particularly praiseworthy. If you are getting bored with the usual game-start, this is definitely a mod to download, and if this is anything to go by, v1.0 is going to be one hell of a mod. Mod Rating: Between Basic and Advanced NB: Please leave constructive criticism, particularly if you download and use this mod, as the download-counter isn't very informative. -Darth InSidious

    Alien Species DLG Correction

    Last Update: 20 Apr 2016

Sirbacon makes his FileFront modding debut today, with this dialog mod for the original Knights of the Old Republic game. The idea behind this mod is something I like a lot, because when I play the game, I usually like to play as a Twi'lek. What the mod does is edit the 'alien' dialog files, removing all mention of the player being human. Instead, the player is referred to as 'stranger', 'off-worlder', 'sentient' or some other equivalent word that doesn't identify the player as being a human. As I said, I play as a Twi'lek most of the time, so I do like this idea a lot. If you're like me, and you think this mod might be your cup of tea, give it a whirl! Note: Please leave the author feedback, especially if you download this mod and use it. It really helps encourage the author to make more mods in the future. ~Marius

Well, if you needed something to spice up your play in the 2003 game of the year, Knights of the Old Republic, we got a mod here that will do just that. I couldnt help but think of Stoffes High Level Force Powers mod when I reviewed the contents of what this mod does by Star Admiral. Youre getting tons of new Force Powers to play with and if you need some changes in the way your character attacks with the Force in this game, this mod will give you just that. There will be a total of 18 new Force Powers added to your game. Seven of those will be lightsaber forms. The author does make it a point for those who do not understand how the game works that the new forms wont change the way your lightsaber attacks in terms of the animation visual you will see as that isnt possible for this game at this moment and judging by the fact that its going on six years since we have been modding this game engine, I dont see that changing. The other 11 powers are attack powers four of them over universal powers, four of them light side powers, and three of them are dark side powers. When you install this mod with the TSL Patcher, the new Force Powers will be available to use in your game. The screenshots will give you an idea of what cool powers you get to use to wipe out enemies. This mod also makes the three different Jedi classes more distinctive. The idea is very similar to the two mods I made on how each Jedi class enhances the specialty of what they do for example like how Guardians will get more combat feats and Consulars will get more Force Powers. Read the readme for more information on what the author did with this part of the game if this interests you. Enjoy! Note: Please leave the author feedback, especially if you download this mod and use it. It really helps encourage the author to make more mods in the future. -Shem

    KOTOR Jedi Robe Model Mod

    Last Update: 20 Apr 2016

Back in late 2004, an author named Xavier2 made this mod called InSidious Plot. It was an added storyline for the first Knights of the Old Republic game. The coolest feature was the altered robe model that the author did. He got Prime to do the skins for the new model and all of a sudden you had some new robes that looks very much like the prequel style tunics you saw in the Prequel Trilogy. The mod was lost when PCGM went offline for good. I talked to Prime on MSN about restoring at least the robe part of the mod and not only did he have plans for that, but he decided to make a huge robe mod out of it. It took a couple of months, but Prime was able to do it and now we got ourselves a realistic looking robe mod out there that really puts the BioWare style of robes to shame. This mod gives the male characters 23 new robes to use. Some of the textures will resemble robes seen in the movies such as Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Mace Windu. There will be others robe textures that made brief Prequel appearances and there also are some original looking custom ones that the author came up with on his own. The author added some new UTI files for some of the new robes to make sure all 23 had support. Some you will get through game play while others you will have to use the cheat console. Prime has made sure that there is a very detailed readme file so you will know how to get access to them. Keep in mind that since the model was made for male characters only. Since Xavier2 only made a male version of the model and it was back in 2004, don't expect a female version to be made. Enjoy these sweet looking robes! Note: Please leave the author feedback, especially if you download this mod and use it. It really helps encourage the author to make more mods in the future. -Shem

When we watch the original Star Wars Trilogy, the one of the things you wont forget is the Stormtrooper uniform. What if you had the chance to use the Stormtrooper armor and helmet to wear with your characters? How about having the Sith Soldiers where the Stormtrooper armor? Prime brings this for the original Knights of the Old Republic game. With the help of Hapslash for the model originally used for Jedi Academy and textures, Bneezy for helping with importing Hapslashs head model into the game, and other members of Holowan Labs and their help and advice (credits in the readme portion), Prime makes it possible for us to be like or have your enemies be like Stormtroopers. I really love have this turned out and I must say that I know many people will be happy with having the feel of the Star Wars movies in their KOTOR game. The game uses appearance.2da and heads.2da file portions. If you are using those particular files, you will need to do some editing in order to make this compatible with your other mods. Enjoy the mod! Note: Please leave the author feedback, especially if you download this mod and use it. It really helps encourage the author to make more mods in the future. -Shem

    HK-47 - Assassin Droid

    Last Update: 20 Apr 2016

Drewton is a modder who has made quite an impact of late, with his various texture and skin mods for the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic series, which he has hosted here at FileFront. He has produced many high quality skins, and he has returned today, to add another to his collection. This time he has created a skin for the first Knights of the Old Republic game, based around everyone's favorite assassin droid, the one and only, HK-47. The author has based his latest skinning effort on the character in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed - PROXY. He has changed the colours of the armour plating on HK's body, to a mix of grey and purple-ish colours which work well in my opinion, and he has also added some electrical energy to the hip joints, which the author says don't look as he initially intended, but evidently, he was satisfied enough not to remove them. He has added some wires to HK's middle section, and has added a pretty cool yellow-orange chamber on the chest area, much like PROXY. The eyes have also been recoloured yellow, to match the rest of the skin. This is a pretty well executed skin overall, though whether or not it is to your taste is of course a matter of personal opinion. A picture is worth a thousand words, so take a look at the screenshots to check whether this mod is something you can see yourself playing with in your Knights of the Old Republic game. -Marius Note: Please leave the author feedback, especially if you download this mod and use it. A picture is worth a thousand words, so take a look at the screenshots to check whether this mod is something you can see yourself playing with in your Knights of the Old Republic game. -Marius Note: Please leave the author feedback, especially if you download this mod and use it. Hyperbole is unfortunately common in the modding world; no matter what the mod, its qualities and the time and effort put in, someone is bound to rate it 10/10. "Unfortunate" is an apt term, because this overuse of praise on often-less-deserving mods leaves little room to describe accurately those rare, truly exceptional works that genuinely deserve such praise. NiuHaka's head skins are amongst those few which exceed every way not only the norm, but even stand out amongst the very best that this community has to offer. This latest mod from NiuHaka - for the original KotOR this time - is of that same exceptional standard, as the screenshots below attest. The mod consists of a single 'base' head reskin, of which there are four variant reskins available here, with two or three sub-variants for each, and the option to have glowing eyes or not. The mod therefore gives you 20 options for the replacement of the third Asian male head. If that sounds confusing, look at the screenshots for clarification. The level of skill seen in this mod can only be described as mastery; there is no doubt that this modder is of exceptional ability and knows exactly how to apply it. The level of care, planning and, often, surprising subtlety on show in each of these reskins. The level of attention to detail and care shown by the author is truly wonderful. The amount of choice given to the end user is, similarly, exemplary. Indeed, to criticise this mod seems almost heretical given the sheer quality of the skins. Some may not prefer the mod given its overt preference for more obvious Dark Side transitions in the vein of the original KotOR style, while they might also be seen as somewhat fantasy-esque. In all honesty, however, these are matters purely of taste, and in no way reflect the mod's value. Leaving aside the texturing itself, on a more general modding note, the author might consider making these skins available in-game alongside one another and the original, rather than each replacing one another in a future edition. Again, this criticism can hardly be described as a major issue, and these skins stand out as at the pinnacle of KotOR skinning. Mod Rating: Very Advanced NB: Please leave constructive criticism, particularly if you download and use this mod, as the download-counter isn't very informative. -Darth InSidious

    Kill Gorton

    Last Update: 20 Apr 2016

Does anybody remember Gorton? Im sure some people dont remember his name, but who he is. Hes an old man on Taris and he hangs out on the Upper City in the original Knights of the Old Republic game. He also claims there is a terrible plague coming and evil walks among you. Does that ring a bell now? Yeah, hes the old guy who hates aliens and wants them gone from Taris. He hangs out near the elevator where you need a Sith armor disguise to get past. Well, what if you could kill that annoying walk of life? Just put him out of his misery? Would that be cool? Im sure if I could see you all visually from my computer screen that I would see a show of hands. If you really want to put an end to that old man and shut him up for good, this mod is waiting for your download. With some new scripts and some dialogue editing our man Mindtwistah is making all this possible. This is only his second mod, but his creative imagination is really at work and we get to benefit from it. It will be interesting to see what else he comes up with in the future. Well just have to wait, but until then enjoy this mod! Note: Please leave the author feedback, especially if you download this mod and use it. It really helps encourage the author to make more mods in the future. -Shem

Ever wanted all your party members to be Jedi? And not just able to become Jedi but be Jedi from the start? Well... look no further because Disciple of the Sith has provided us with just that . This mod makes sure that Canderous, Carth, Mission, and Zaalbar have Jedi classes, Force Powers, and lightsabers. And you're not losing items like Ordo's Repeating Blaster, or Carth's Blaster because your companions still have these items as well as the lightsabers. Lightsaber Forms for K1

    Last Update: 20 Apr 2016

What many users loved about Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords was the ability to check lightsaber forms for certain types of situations, especially duels that were going to either be somewhat of a challenge or very challenging to help get an extra advantage. This was one of the many great new features Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords had to offer. What I think is great is when modders find ways to give those types of great features into the first Knights of the Old Republic game. Deathdisco is back. Hes the author who brought us the hit mod Coruscant The Jedi Temple for Knights of the Old Republic II: This Sith Lords is back with this fabulous mod for Knights of the Old Republic. In fact, it was a year ago today that his Coruscant mod went up on this site. This mod that he gave us used to be on PCGM and we're glad he finally decided to upload it here. There will be seven forms you can use during game play now. Those are listed in the readme and what types of bonuses you get from them. To use them in the game, the author made them into armbands and those have the different bonuses that those forms gave you in TSL. Some of them require certain feats to use them. Information how to get them and is in the readme file also. Its really self explanatory and there is a screenshot to give you a visual on how to get them on the Ebon Hawk after you get the first one after constructing your lightsaber. Enjoy the mod! Recruit Ajunta Pall (Beta)

    Last Update: 20 Apr 2016

I really felt that BioWare was really lazy when it came to Ajunta Palls look. I mean they took the male Dark Jedi hooded outfit and just made it glow. You would think that thousands of years ago that the style of clothing would be different and making a new model for such an ancient prestigious Sith Lord. Anyhow, LordDeathRay bring a mod to us that is in Beta mode where you can recruit the ancient Sith Lord into your party. The game engine does not allow for it to add party members that are already there so you when you add a new recruit, you have to replace an old one. Of the nine possible party members you can get, only seven of them are necessary to complete the game. The two optional members are HK-47 and Juhani. Now you can replace any party member, but if you replace a necessary party member, depending on how you mod it, it can cause your game to get stuck. Anyway, Juhani is the party member LDR replaced in this mod. If you like the idea, just play around with it and see where the bugs are so that LDR can fix them. Just remember that unless you put in like 50 or more hours into a recruiting mod, you will have mute dialogue unfortunately. Enjoy! Multi Kill & Multi Plague (Fixed)

    Last Update: 20 Apr 2016

Im sure many people remember that Lit Ridls FileFront debut mod was the Multi Kill and Multi Plague Force Powers for the original Knights of the Old Republic game. There was a slight problem with how both Force Powers could be used. Call it an oversight if you must because even the best modders make mistakes from time to time. Anyway, these new Force Powers could be used against droids. Many of you that have already downloaded this mod may have noticed this. If this really bugged you, the author went back and fixed that problem to make it more realistic. For those who are seeing this or hearing about this for the first time, Lit Ridl (one of my favorite modders for both KOTOR games) has made a two new Force Powers to be used for KOTOR. Many of you are familiar with the Force Powers Kill and Plague. Kill will choke your enemy to death with the Force. Plague extremely poisons your enemy with the Force. The thing about each of those Force Powers is that they only worked on one enemy at a time. Both Force Powers really didnt do much good when attacked by a group of thugs. If you ever wanted to be able use Kill and Plague on multiple enemies, this mod will do just that. Each Force Power is available when your PC or your Party Members progresses level 14. Multi Kill is an extremely powerful Force Power and when you download this mod, it probably will be the most powerful Power you can get access to in the original KOTOR game. I look at this mod as to add some fun when fighting enemies, especially when you hit a group of attackers that are pretty easy and you want to show off the power you possess. Those who are a big fan of the Plague power, this will really be a treat. Saving throws will still come into play so if your enemy is strong, he/she will make a saving throw just like with any Force Power in the game. Just so you know, Force Choking multiple people at the same time is possible in the Star Wars Universe, in fact it has been done in one of the Star Wars movies. In Return of the Jedi, Luke Skywalker choked two Gamorrean guards at the same time in Jabbas Palace. So I say why not have the ability to do it in the KOTOR games? The fixed version of this mod is extremely awesome and fun to play with. Note: Please leave the author feedback, especially if you download this mod and use it. It really helps encourage the author to make more mods in the future. -Shem

-Shem

    Recruitable Kay

    Last Update: 20 Apr 2016

I am proud to present the greatest recruitment mod to ever be made for the 2003 game of the year, Knights of the Old Republic. This mod is a year and half in the making and its finally here just in time for Christmas. So Merry Christmas everybody! Inyri Forges mod gets my vote as the best mod to ever be released in the year 2007. If there was a voting poll available, I would cast my ballot for this mod. Im betting a lot of people that have been waiting patiently are excited that its finally here and probably arent taking the time to read the review because they already have decided they want this mod after seeing a teaser trailer or two and are hitting the download button as soon as they click the link to the mod; of course that means there are others who still arent in on this recruitment mod and wonder why Im calling it the best recruitment mod to ever be made and want to know if its worth downloading a 19.8 megabyte file. If you want to know why that is, just keep reading on and youll find out why its the best. Im going to *WARN* you that spoilers will be mentioned in this review so if you havent had the chance to play Knights of the Old Republic all the way through and dont want to be spoiled, then stop reading now or suffer the consequences! Inyri Forge created a female character named Kay. She is a Jedi Sentinel that you find on the planet of Tatooine on a mission to investigate Czerka Corporation or at least that is what she will tell you. Remember the trio of Dark Jedi that confront you on Tatooine telling you that Lord Malak was most displeased that your PC left Taris alive? Right after that event you will see a female Jedi walking towards you with a golden lightsaber hilt (made by the author too) that will emit a yellow blade when activated. You will also notice her brown hair, blue eyes, and a red Jedi robe (assuming there isnt a mod changing its look in your override folder) as shown in the screenshot. Go and talk to her so shell join your party in your quest to find the Star Forge. There are many reasons why this character is special. She has audio dialogue which is provided by Inyri Forge herself. All the other recruitment mods have mute dialogue, so this part alone sets this recruitment mod leaps and bounds above any other recruitment mod out there. You can also have conversations with her as you level up and eventually you will trigger a side quest that starts on Tatooine. You will have to talk to Kay at least five times before her side quest starts. So talk to her as soon as she joins you and wait till you have to level up to talk to her again and do that five times and her quest will be ready to start. When the quest is ready to start, go back to Dantooine and talk to the Jedi near the Ebon Hawk. After you start the quest, youll have to go back to the Dantooine where the Mandalorian there will finally talk to you and eventually have to go to Manaan to get something, and back to Dantooine to return an item to complete the quest to the female Twilek Jedi in the training room. It is best to play your game when leaving Dantooine by going to Tatooine, then Kashyyyk, then Manaan, and Korriban last while finding the Star Maps in order to have time to complete Kays quest and pretty much get the most out of this mod because if you need to do it before you get captured by the Leviathan. There are three other new characters with recorded audio just like Kay. One of the new voiced characters is a Jedi on Dantooine which you will see as you get off the Ebon Hawk. You cant miss him. The other two are Mandalorians. One of the Mandalorians is on Tatooine and the other is on Manaan. The Mandalorian on Tatooine can be found near the exit out of Anchorhead on the far left side. Hell be wearing the blue Mandalorian colored armor. The Mandalorian on Manaan that you will speak to wears red colored Mandalorian armor and can be found at the end of the module which is near where the Sith Shuttle is that can get you into the Sith Base. For those who are familiar with how the game engine on Knights of the Old Republic works, you will know that if you add a recruit to your party, you will have to replace another party member. In the case of this recruitment mod the ousted party member is Juhani. Because Juhani is out and you never had the heart to kill her in your duel with her on Dantooine, or you wanted extra Jedi help from your party; now is the time to do it since shes not going to be in your group. Well, thats not entirely true since she will join your group still if you spare her and help will your PC out until you recruit Kay on Tatooine and that is when Kay will override Juhani and shell be out for the rest of the game. Theres a specific reason why Juhani was chosen to be replaced. There are two party members you can complete the game with that arent necessary for the storyline and that is Juhani and HK-47. These two are optional party members while the rest of them will join you no matter what. Its easy to pick Juhani because she is the less popular of the two party members and youre replacing one female Jedi with another. It was also the easiest way to go for the author to do so that is why she was chosen. Since it is Juhani that is replaced, the author did a lot of work in replacing situations where Juhani would chime in on certain events and has Kay speak instead. I believe this was the most time consuming part of constructing this mod. This adds a dimension that recruitment mods have never had before because recruitment mods in the past would have the party member you replace speak their dialogue instead of the new recruit and you get audio from Kay to make her seem alive which makes this really special. Again since Juhani is replaced, Kay will go with Revan into the Rakatan Temple with Jolee. This means there is that confrontation on top of the temple with Bastila and Kay will have a role in it. Revans choice to stay on the light path or go to the dark side will have an effect on Kays fate. Kay also has a reaction to your PC being Revan so play with this mod to find out what she thinks of the whole thing. I feel I should give you all a word of warning about this mod that you should know. Just because Kay is recruited on Tatooine doesnt mean its best to find a saved game where you havent been to Tatooine yet. Yes, you can recruit her that way, but you will not be able to complete the side quest that comes with her character because two new Jedi need to spawn on Dantooine and in order for those Jedi to show up, you must have a saved game where you never have been on Dantooine before. This would mean you must have a saved game that is on Taris in order for you get the full effect of this mod. As mentioned earlier that one of the Jedi you can find on Dantooine can be seen as you exit the Ebon Hawk who is a voiced character. There is a female Twilek Jedi in the training room where the workbench is that uses the Huttese language that is provided by the BioWare. So lets do a short review about what you will get just in case I lost you: - A new recruit who has audio dialogue - She is an in depth character - She has a side quest that spans three planets - She has her own custom head - She has her own custom lightsaber hilt To prevent crying among the community, the author uses the TSL Patcher to install the mod. So just sit back and let the Patcher do its job and get ready to play your game. Enjoy this wonderful recruitment mod. Here is the trailer to this mod in case that helps instead of reading through my lengthy review. Note: Please leave the author feedback, especially if you download this mod and use it. It really helps encourage the author to make more mods in the future. -Shem Mac & Anti-TSL Patcher Users Click on this link to get the manual installation: http://inyri.flowinternet.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=50 Make sure you download the 1.01 Patch: http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.filefront.com/file/Recruitable_Kay;86204 Don't forget the Hot Fix: http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.filefront.com/file/Recruitable_Kay;90703

    Dantooine Reskin

    Last Update: 20 Apr 2016

Well, you certainly have been treated well today, haven't you! Here's a second area reskin by Quanon, this time, reskinning the planet Dantooine in the first Knights of the Old Republic game. A while ago, Quanon made this reskin for Darkkender, who was making the planet Mustafar, though the project never went ahead. Like the Taris reskins, Q sent them to me, and I loved them, so I got him to release them. A few months later, here we are! They're finally on KotORFiles. The main attraction I think, is the green grass. It's much nicer to look at than the orange/brown that Bioware put in there. The interior of the Enclave has also been changed too, as have the estates. These reskins are of the superb quality we've come to expect from Quanon over the years, so they're definitely worth a download! Note: Please leave the author feedback, especially if you download this mod and use it. It really helps encourage the author to make more mods in the future. ~Marius

    Bastila Improvement Project

    Last Update: 20 Apr 2016

Well wonders never cease! We got a new mod from someone Ive never seen released a mod before. I know him as Fast Eddie ever since I started getting active with FileFront. Im talking well before I ever joined staff let alone took over as manager. To me, Eddie was someone who would comment on new mods and PotDs. Its like he finally came out of the closet, but in a good way. Now he can finally say hes contributed to the mod collection here. Now for a first mod I have to say I was really a little confused about what he did at first. My problem was I was looking at the skins and trying to find the differences. Then I looked at the file contents and realized that hes been playing with the model files. The files he messed with are her head, underwear model (that includes the slave outfit shes in when you rescue her), default clothing, female Jedi robe, and Darth Revan/Star Forge robe models. From what I can see is the author slightly shrunk the size of her lips. The author then decided to go into Gmax and compare Bastilas body shape in her underwear model to the clothes she wears and made them so theyre more in proportioned to her body shape. This was done with her default clothing, the Jedi robe, and the Darth Revan/Star Forge robes. The author also made it so these physical changes are just for Bastila when she wears those types of clothing. A very clever idea of making her more distinguished. Of course lets not forget what most guys are going to be interested about this mod. Bastilas boobs are going to be bigger. Im sure thats enough to get Bastila fanboys to download this mod by itself. This mod does use the TSL Patcher for you fans out there that couldnt mod to save your life to help make changes to the appearance.2da file. Please go over the readme for more details about this mod. It will be interesting to see the reaction to this mod. Welcome to the modding world Fast Eddie and enjoy the mod everybody!
