To be fair, in the movies, the younglings were 8 to 12 range if I remember...  Anakin was almost too old for training at that time.  Jedi rarely accepted anyone for training that was old enough to remember their families.  Those younglings had been using the force for years, and the training was very slow, peaceful, and careful, as well as heavily supervised.

Old Republic era on the other hand, is very short handed and desperate to get Jedi, and losing a bunch to the dark side, or training injuries is worth the risk, given that if the Sith find the force sensitives, they are dead or dark side anyway...  And in SWtOR, like KotOR, you train with special training blades, not lightsabers, because the training is fast, harsh, and dangerous.

I mean, I disagree with the premise that you say "Even In the movies" Because the movies are thousands of years after this game, the old Republic were different times and there were a lot more Yonglings and Acolytes in those days, training was done with vibroblades. Although, Vibroblades change a lot in the universe given in where you read/see/hear them like In Red Harvest they were barbed toxic metallic blades that sent you into agonizing white hot flushes of pain wherever they touched you.

Well said. And to add to your comment, even in SWTOR you train with vibroblades before officially becoming a jedi by crafting your lightsaber. So no, this is not dumb or a bad move made by the KOTOR devs, this is just logic that we see our character train with a vibroblade.

The only issue I see with the original implementation is they should have been called vibroswords as vibroblades are supposed to be daggers.

Is there an easy way to change the saber color? When I opened dan13_practice.uti with kotor tool, it warned a dropdown menu couldn't be set. I had to use GFF editor to change the color.

As a suggestion, is there a way to alter your armor during the cutscene? I think it would be nice if you wore jedi robes while training.

And of course, thank you for the mod!

If you set kotor tool to check your Override folder for .2da files, it will properly display all dropdown menus. I don't know where that setting is located exactly though. To change the color you'd need to edit the Model Variation.

And yes, it should be possible to change the armor for that cutscene. That would require some scripting but should be possible. I'll keep the idea in mind and maybe I'll do a mod like this once I have some time for modding again

      Glad you like the mod!

Edit: You need to open the .uti file from your Override since the row number for baseitems.2da is set during the installation and might not be the same as the one in the .uti from the installation folder.
