is that the case for all KotOR mods? it would seem that the simpler ones like texture overhauls and other stuff that gets dumped into the override folder would be easy enough to manage?
It might install extremely simple mods properly, but there isn't any point in using it. It won't handle anything complicated, and can screw up your game if you install ANY other mod that uses the tslpatcher
I like the concept. it's slightly false advertising since you still get a single levele in a non jedi class so really you only get 1 extra level potential in jedi, which isn't a big deal if you saved levels from 2 though it does make taris much easier.
what I will say is while yes it does have some tedium to it, taris is probably the one of the funnest parts of the game because you're an undercover republic soldier in sith territory trying to find a way off while being hunted. it makes it more immersive not having jedi power handed to you from the get go so you can smash the game instantly so you can experience mortality in game and have to depend on your squad like carth and zalbar for their skills, before you become a jedi god revan in his second coming who can solo the world with force lightning and insanity. also having to stay level 2 keeps the difficulty high, though still very playable if you play smart, use frag grenades on packs of 3+ use sonic grenades for ac reduction on big singles, use a row of stimulants to make up for the lower base stats so you can still hit and dodge and take a hit yourself. you know those turrets you have to shut down in the vulkar base cuz they 1 shot you trying to get to the door? yea you can ion grenade spam those for 1650 exp early game if you throw then los at the door. you can literally kill bendak starkiller at level 2 if you play right and it makes it a much more rewarding experience when you had to work for it. by the time you're level 8 as a jedi you've basically beaten the game, you've got force resistance, you've got ranks in speed, you've got valor, you've got force horror and lightning for big packs, and on top of it all you've got a lightsaber with 2 solid crystals by the time you leave dantooine as well as your offhand saber, and a full bab class if you chose guardian. like legit the game is over and you're rping across the finish line.
if anything I wish there was a way to extend the pre jedi stage of the game without forcing you to level too much and a little more story and some scenes of your force power manifesting.
I have this mod installed and it gives me the dialogue choice at the start to pick my class, but level ups still give me Scoundrel levels. Also, how early am I supposed to be able to get a lightsaber? The images on the mod indicate that I should start with one, but I only get a short sword. Also, Trask shows up, but other comments indicated that he should not?
My other mods are Kotor Restoration and the Lightsaber and Force Forms add-on. However, disabling both of them didn't change anything.
Since you said disable, I'm assuming you're using a mod manager. You cannot do that for kotor. Even if they say they work, they actually don't, and will break the vast majority of mods
Hi I used to have this installed but had to re-install kotor fresh without any mods and forgot how to install it. I have Breezip that I am using to view the zip files and clicked on the installer.exe to run, but it says "warning: cannot locate changes.ini with work instructions!" and "unable to load instructions text" and "please make sure tslpatchdata is in the same folder as this data. I clicked into the tslpach folder and saw the file in there. What am I doing wrong?
How do I uninstall this? I've installed a bunch of stuff and I'd rather not do a clean install of KOTOR and install all that stuff again as that took hours. I want to use the Super Skip Taris Mod but Jedi from the Start gets rid of Trask who has the Skip Taris dialog.
got the mod installed and it works well, but I'm running into a dialogue glitch with the second dialogue tree for Carth. he's going over what happened on the Endar Spire and it seems to glitch when he wants to ask you about (I think) your class. anyone else have this?
edit to add- after going though the conversation a number of times, it works now. didn't really change anything- turned my other mods off and on, then went through it a few more times and it worked. Yay!?
I also have this exact same glitch but can’t get past the dialogue, it says Conversation error: last conversation mode contains either an end node or continue none, please contact a designer! Any idea how to fix this? Thanks
Hello sorry for the late reply, I used the installer and I picked soldier and guardian classes, are there meant to be more? Everything else seems to work perfect, it’s just I can’t advance more with Carths conversation where he asks ‘what is your position with the republic fleet anyway?’ When you first get to Taris
If you go into your override folder, and find the "k_hcar_dialog.dlg" file, and send it to me (either email it to me at [email protected], or post it somewhere and link it), I can try to figure out why it works for me and not for you. If you could also send your "installlog.rtf" that got created by the tslpatcher, that would help

Otherwise, you have to remove everything listed in the installlog, and copy the files in the backup folder to your game.

KotOR 1 Restoration 1.2
and
The Comprehensive Kotor Bug fix Collection
And what classes did you pick (regular and Jedi)
Edit: i was able to bypass this glitch by replacing the "k_hcar_dialog.dlg" with the similarly named file from the "Bi Carth" mod
