I introduce you to my Cinematic Overhaul project for Kotor 1, only available in 1080p at the moment.

Thanks to the great work from many dedicated fans, we have access to ultra HD remade footage of the game. The images and the video footages are not my work at all, I simply edited it for better introduction into the base game. I mostly used Unreal Cinema footages and also the hyperespace render made by HobbitVFX.

My project intends to give a better cinematography to Kotor. It is inspired by the work done by Unreal Cinema project, especially regarding planet names introduction via the arrival cinematics. It will, without a doubt, give a “remake” vibe to it. Every footages could not be remade unfortunately, but a little portion of the game especially the introduction will benefit from it. For the planet arrivals especially, I used a HD to Original graphic transition via hyperespace fade in/out.

It does not include every cinematic for the base game, you have to download first an upscaled version of the cinematics that you can find here and there, and then replace some of the files with mine.

2 major disclaimers however because my overhaul comes with its own problems :

- As I edited the base footage of the game in some parts, they experienced a slight frame rate/quality decrease that I was not able to manage for the arrival scenes using base game cinematics. I kept quality as best as possible.
- Also, due to the size of the files being very huge compared to the base game files, you may experience back to desk sometime when the cinematir occur
(it wont close the game). Not a game breaking problem but you might not like this.

Installation :
