For future users who may want to use this. I was having the same problem as many, without trask, I could not get past the initial door. I have lots of mods installed but I narrowed it down to this. Their is two ways to get past it.

    1. You need to have at least one skill in security. If you do, you can open it that way.
    2. Their is a feat called gear head, which you can choose to start the game that gives you one security skill
    3. This may seem odd but you can use your blaster you get at start of game and stand in right spot in front of door and shoot it. It will open eventually. It's very specific and may take a few shots to do it. It did open doing that even without security. I had to shoot it 3-4x to get the right spot.

Hope this helps someone in future.

P.S I also manually installed mod after doing the .exe install and did not work first time but it may have been a combo of the things, so if you try away above, do the OVR folder manual install and see if that works.

Trask doesn't show up but the first door is still locked and I've tried installing the mod again as well as manually installing the mod with no success.

late to the party, but I spent six hours downloading all of my mods and I'm not going to reinstall them all again just to get past a stupid door.

got this mod and skipped the entire endar spire.

    Hello there!
I really like your mod but there is a problem.
Can you please tell me what is the best way to delete your mods?
I used your "Jedi from the start" mod but I couldn't get into it so I deleted all (I think) files and reinstalled the game. Later I downloaded and installed this mod. 3 warnings were detected (some files already existed) but it didn't cause any issues. Until that is, I arrived on Dantooine. The conversations were weird, and I knew something was off. I then realized that the conversations made perfect sense if I was a Jedi from the start. When the training cutscene (meditating, reading, floating etc.) was supposed to come the game crashed and the save file was corrupted :\.
I would be grateful if In the next versions of your mods you could include an instruction how to remove them fully in the "readme" text.
And can you tell me what the "appearance standardizer" is about, then it would be great.
    Thank you!

Removing mods for KotOR is difficult do to the lack of a manager. I would recommend reinstalling your game whenever you want to change what mods you are using. This is the best way to remove mods.

      Thanks for answering.
I have managed to find the solution on my own. Since the errors were detected (files already existed) were found in the override folder, I decided to check there.
Later I discovered that manual installation included that normal override folder with the files already there.
So I basically did the manual installation and It worked! No errors and everything is fine.
Thank you for your attention, keep up the good work!
