Super Hardcore Mode for Kingdom Come: Deliverance

Requirements
Permissions and credits
This mod changes Hardcore Mode to Super Hardcore Mode, which turns the difficulty of many of the game systems up to eleven, making Kingdom Come: Deliverance properly masochist-friendly! As a byproduct, Normal Mode is changed to Semi-Hardcore Mode, which retains most of the Super Hardcore changes without utilizing the features of the original Hardcore Mode, such as negative perks and the player's location not being visible on the map.

Many of the changes can be benefited from by just playing the game with the mod. Some of the changes, however, will only take place when you start a new playline with the mod already installed.

This mod tries to make the game very hard, without making it more annoying. That being said, those qualities often go hand in hand so it's impossible to completely avoid that. Nevertheless, I've tried to steer the changes in that way. That's why I have completely avoided messing with, for example, the save system.

Installation: Put the contents of the ZIP file into "Mods" folder in your Kingdom Come folder (e.g. YourSteamInstalationFolder\steamapps\common\KingdomComeDeliverance). If the "Mods" folder does not exist yet, create it.

Main Changes:

- Game Over screen texts are now demotivational, snarky and even hurtful. Some of the skeletons on the Game Over screen might even flip you off!

- Combat is tougher and based more on aggresivity. The enemies will attack you much faster and more relentlessly and will be less likely to give up, so fighting a group of them can easily be a death sentence. Blocking and getting hit drains more stamina, while attacking costs less. Enemies are very unlikely to let you just hit them without any defensive reaction and will be able to perform combos more easily. Perfect blocks and Master strikes are harder to execute. Bow has no zoom and holding it drawn drains considerably more stamina.

- Surviving in the medieval times is not easy. Henry has to sleep and eat in shorter, more realistic intervals and so you will have to constantly juggle your priorities, plan ahead, time-manage and pay attention to food RPG values and bed comfort levels.

- Henry now has more realistic, lower carrying capacity. This will force you to really consider all equip and other trinkets you carry in your pockets, since there will never be enough space for everything you need. You are going to have to squeeze everything you can from Strength as well as related perks. Just don't count on the Well Worn perk to help you much, it has been nerfed. Carrying capacity of all horses and all saddle bags has been lowered accordingly.

- Stat and Skill leveling curve has been modified, so you now gain levels much slower in the endgame, preventing you from easily becoming overpowered later on.

Other changes:

- Random ambushes are now really dangerous. You are more likely to meet tougher enemies in larger numbers
- Renting a room in an inn permanently is now really, really expensive luxury
- Hans Capon now has the brawn to match his attitude, so good luck winning over him in sword fighting and archery duels when you first meet him!
- Monetary rewards Henry gets for his deeds are a bit lower
- Negative reputation hits Henry gets when doing something bad are stronger
- The debuff you get after being released from jail is tougher and lasts longer
- Repairing your equipment is harder. Repair kits have lower capacity and are more expensive and the sharpening minigame is less forgiving
- Healing potions as well as potions that alter your stats and skills are heavier. Combined with the lower carrying capacity, this stops you from carrying a whole apothecary around with you, being able to "heal yourself" out of any trouble
- Bianca gives you exactly what she says she will in Skalitz - one Saviour Schnapps. Just one
- Fritz will only give you one lockpick in Skalitz. Either you open Kunesh's chest with it, or you don't!
- Runt is now really hardcore in your duel with him in Pribyslavitz. Good Luck
- Body parts are easier to injure and bleeding is more dangerous
- Henry is now allowed to sleep more often to compensate for getting tired faster
- Full text support in English and Czech
- Names of the modes and their descriptions have been translated to English in all other languages supported by the game - so that it's obvious that the mod works when using one of those languages (French, German, Chinese, Italian, Polish, Russian, Spanish and Turkish)
- Harcore fans of the "lore" of Daniel Vávra might even find an easter egg or two (in Czech)

If you find any bugs or have remarks about some aspects of the game still being too easy (or too hard), feel free to write in the comments.

Changelist:

1.0
- Vanilla

1.1
- Changed the weight of some of the cheapest horse saddles. In 1.0 they actually reduced the weight the horse can carry, now they properly extend the horse's carry capacity (by a very small amount)
