    Unhid the mod, people told me it's still desired. No new updates, though! Thanks for the interest.

    Dont see a point to this makes it almost impossible to change guard without completely losing the target.

    Here's a short and terrible video representation of some modded combat.
    Not using hard lock at all. And switching targets by moving the mouse and attacking, no scrolling.
    It's a max lvl, all stats, all perks Henry in silver armor and with a herods sword. Using BCAIC

    To people planning to get this mod: Don't. Use the tab key, or mouse wheel, or controller's right analog click to instantly switch targets instead.

      I agree. It's a nice thought, but these changes just make my targeting more erratic and make it really difficult to control the direction of attacks without accidentally decoupling from the target.

      Aside from the target switching with tab/mouse wheel, you can also use middle mouse to prevent lock ons and move your camera freely with enemies arround you.

      Yeah, I tried this and it was very unpredictable. Even if I was fighting one person with no one else around, it would randomly unlock and I'd be looking up at the sky or turned completely around.

      I guess this is fine if your playstyle is to just do nothing but master strikes or clinch-pokes. Probably not ideal if you want to play with combos.

    Thank you very much, combat feels way more fluid now. Don't need to eloborate, everyone pointed out what I would anyway! Simply brilliant and a must.

    How can we better keep the lock on the opponent whilst switching our angle of attack? The lock breaks way too easily when the enemy is a few steps away or starts moving sideways as you try to swing from the opposite direction.

    Nevermind the other ppl saying it doesn't work. @Nahmies your mod is amazing. I always hated how combat against multiple oponents felt awful and janky, how I couldn't switch between targets fast and even dealing with peasants was terrible. With your mod however, I can fluidly change targets as they attack and masterstrike, parry and even getting some combos off. I don't usually write comments, but your mod has absolutely changed the game for me, thank you.

    DO NOT DOWNLOAD. Does not work properly with newest version of the game and leads to immense jittering between enemies. Especially disorienting when getting jumped by 4 Cumans.

      I am writing from the year 2025. As soon as I installed the mod and entered the game, I was attacked by 5 enemies and the mod went crazy. This was a bad experience for me. I deleted it without waiting to encounter 2 enemies.

    Please please Author come back and save KD:2 with you magical fingers! <3

    This is hands down the most important mod for KD1 that every m+kb player and their controller using long lost grandma absolutely need to install. Please tell me the sequel works in a way where this is possible to recreate there because OH GOD when I booted up KD2 and instantly remembered "Oh right, the original was just as bad as this but I found a mod to fix ALL the problems back then" :(

      Should work for KD:2 as is. This just adds some commands to a user.cfg file, which KD:2 also has (pretty sure the commands are the same between the games too). It runs automatically on startup if it's in devmode (put -devmode at the end of the target in the properties of the game's shortcut). Just paste what's in this mod in the user.cfg file (you might need to make one in the game's root folder):

      wh_cs_playermaxopponentdistancetolock = 8
      wh_cs_playermaxopponentdistancetounlock = 8
      wh_cs_playerunlocktimeout = 0
      wh_cs_playerverticalunlockdelay = 0
      wh_cs_playerhorizontalunlockdelay = 0
      wh_cs_playerlockopponentanglebias = 2
      wh_cs_playermaxopponentangletolock = 0.8
      wh_cs_playermaxopponentangletounlock = 0.8
      wh_cs_playerinputcombatunlockdelay = 0
      wh_cs_playerinputcursorunlockdistance = 0.05
      wh_cs_playerinputlockingtolerance = 20
      wh_cs_playerinputlockareawidth = 0.6
      wh_cs_playerinputmouseunlockxthreshold = 60
      wh_cs_playerinputmouseunlockmintime = 0
      wh_cs_playerinputmouseunlockreturntime = 1.5
      wh_cs_playerinputmouseunlockminoppangle = 20

      I did it myself and I'm pretty sure it worked, but I never actually fought anyone before adding it so I can't be %100 sure

    To create a file named "autoexec.cfg" in the specified game root folder and add text to it, follow these steps:

    • Open File Explorer:

      • Navigate to the folder where the game is installed. In your case, it is D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\KingdomComeDeliverance.

    • Create the File:

      • Right-click in the folder, select New, and then choose Text Document.
      • Name the file autoexec.cfg. Make sure to change the file extension from .txt to .cfg. If you don't see the file extension, you may need to enable file name extensions in your File Explorer settings.

    • Open the File:

      • Right-click on autoexec.cfg and select Edit or open it with a text editor like Notepad.

    • Add the Text:

      • Copy the text from the mod file.
      • Paste it into the autoexec.cfg file.

    • Save the File:

      • After pasting the text, save the file and close the text editor.

    • Verify the File:

      • Ensure that the autoexec.cfg file is in the correct folder and contains the text you added

      Hello, you say to ensure the autoexec.cfg file is in the correct folder, but by correct folder do you mean the directory:

      D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\KingdomComeDeliverance

      or do you mean the Mods folder within the directory?

      D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\KingdomComeDeliverance\Mods     ??

      Please disregard, I got it working by putting it straight into the directory

    What settings can be adjusted to give a bit more of a stronger lock? Moving my mouse to change angle of attack is also moving my camera too much in a lot of instances

      I would guess it's this one:

      wh_cs_playerinputmouseunlockminoppangle

      The number would seem to be angle in degrees. Try 25-35 to keep the lock. If it doesn't work, I don't know what to try. The other settings are more vague. I'm about to start a fresh run, and I remember having the same issue as you. I'll try to remember to report back with my own experience.
