Version 2.1 corrects some text errors and 2 repeated perk IDs.
This mod adds 39 new perks to the game, unlocks the Halberd skill on the character sheet, and makes several changes to existing perks and the perk system in general. It is included in the current version of Blood and Iron Overhaul now available. This mod is now in its final form barring any error corrections that may need to be made.
Like any new perk system it is best if this mod is used with a new game.
The Lethean Water potion will allow you to reset your perk points for a game already in progress.
Saved Games: When installing on a saved game, especially if upgrading from a previous version of this mod, it is best to reset the game's file library. To do this, start a new game and complete the initial dialogue sequence with Henry’s mother. Then quit and reload your save game.
Mod Features:
General:
*There are no exclusive perks. Combine contradicting perks to create new ones
*Existing perks have been rebalanced to accommodate this structure
Example: Race Horse now confers +20% speed and -10% carry capacity;
Heavy Duty Pony confers +20% carry capacity and -10% speed.
Combine the two for a compromise that grants +10% speed and +10% carry capacity.
New Bow Perks
*Headshot: Strikes to the head are 10% more likely to knock out an enemy
*Breath Control I: Your stamina is increased by +10%
*Breath Control II: Your stamina is increased by +15%
*Breath Control III: Your stamina is increased by +20%
*Bowman I: You receive a +5% bonus to marksmanship
*Bowman II: You receive a +7.5% bonus to marksmanship
*Bowman III: You receive a +10% bonus to marksmanship
New Halberd Perks
(The Halberd skill is unlocked by this mod)
*Swift Strike I: Your attacks are 10% faster with strength-based weapons
*Swift Strike II: Your attacks are 15% faster with strength-based weapons
*Swift Strike III: Your attacks are 20% faster with strength-based weapons
*Mob Fighter: Your attack speed increases when outnumbered
*Heavy Weapons Mastery I: Strength-based weapons drain 5% less stamina
*Heavy Weapons Mastery II: Strength-based weapons drain 7.5% less stamina
*Heavy Weapons Mastery III: Strength-based weapons drain 10% less stamina
New Unarmed Perks
*Brawler: Your stamina regenerates 5% faster
*Mud Blood: Your blood-loss is slowed
*Hammer Hands I: You inflict +5% damage
*Hammer Hands II: You inflict +7.5% damage
*Hammer Hands III: You inflict +10% damage
*Thick Skinned I: You take 5% less damage
*Thick Skinned II: You take 10% less damage

*Firm Grip II: Enemy blocks cost +20% stamina
*Firm Grip III: Enemy blocks cost +30% stamina
*Better Part of Valor I: +10% running speed in combat
*Better Part of Valor II: +15% running speed in combat
*Better Part of Valor III: +20% running speed in combat

*Bloodletter II: +20% chance to cause enemy bleeding
*Bloodletter III: +30% chance to cause enemy bleeding
New Alchemy Perks
*Venomous Blade II: Poisoned weapons last +50% longer
New Lockpicking Perks
*Master Thief II: Automatically unlock Hard locks
*Master Thief III: Automatically unlock all locks

*Slim Fit II: -30% noise in armor
*Slim Fit III: -40% noise in armor
New Pickpocketing Perks
*Secret Pockets II: Additional coin found on bodies

*Feather Weight II: -50% falling damage

*Scary Bastard I: +25% intimidation in dialogue

Modified Vanilla Perks
*Bloodletter: +10% chance of enemy bleeding
*Brute: +2 Strength, -1 Charisma
*Cloak and Dagger: +2 speech, -1 Strength
Firm Grip I: Enemy blocks cost +10% stamina
*Golden Tongue: +2 Charisma, -1 Strength
*Juggler: +2 Agility, -1 Speech
*Ken: +2 Charisma, -1 Strength
*Marathon Man: Running 10% slower, costs 20% less stamina
*Sprinter: Running 20% faster, costs 10% more stamina
*Race Horse: +20% speed, -10% carry weight
*Heavy Duty Pony: +20% carry weight, -10% speed
Venomous Blade I: Poisoned weapons last +25% longer
Instalation:
*If you do not already have one, create a new folder in your KCD game folder called "Mods."
*Open the archive and place the folder inside in your Mods folder.

TROUBLESHOOTING:
Files Not Loading: Sometimes the game doesn’t implement modded files right away. This problem seems to have been exacerbated by the 1.4.3 patch. If you encounter this issue, start a new game and complete the initial dialogue sequence with Henry’s mother. Then quit and reload you save game. This will often force KCD to reload the game library's files.
Localization File Conflicts: If you are using any mod that alters the Localization/english_xml.pak/ soul.xml file, that will cause a conflict. Also, some mods that only alter some files in the english_xml.pak leave redundant files inside even when they are not altered. If this includes either of these two files, again, you have a conflict.
*Using 7zip, extract the english_xml,pak from this mod.
*Right-click on the english_xmk.pak from the LAST mod in your load order and, again with 7zip, choose "open archive" at the top of the pop-up menu that appears.
*Drag the file you extracted from step one and drop it into the new open archive window and confirm the overwrite.
The Localization/english_xml.pak/text_ui_soul.xml file only deals with perks and this mod is not usable with other perk mods so this won't damage any other mods you are using.
No Perk Points When Leveling Character or Skills: There is a bug some people have when adding the DLC that causes perk points to not be awarded when they level up the character or skills. You can try verifying your files through Steam though some people need to uninstall the game and re-install it--I had to do that myself.
*Make copies of mods, altered files, your user.config, etc.
*Uninstall the game then go into your Steam folder and delete the KCD file entirely.
*Re-install the game.
*Restore your mods and any other files.
Reporting Issues: I check the comments section at least once a day so you can ask any questions you need to there and I will see them. If I am going to be out of touch for more than a day or two, I will leave a sticky post up top to that effect. Please refrain from posting in the Bugs section unless you are certain the problem is with BIO itself because you understand and have examined the files. If there is a bug that I can’t fix immediately I will add it to the Bug reports myself. If you ARE certain feel free top post in the Bug reports directly.
