I would HIGHLY recommend either waiting to use this mod until deeper in the game, or use as low of a value as possible. (like x2)
Using this mod early on, you lose out on increasing your herbalism skill faster, and also your strength skill (if perk purchased). Since the game only awards XP per pick, picking an entire field worth of herbs in one shot isn't good if you're going for XP.
Using this mod ( Instant Herb Picking- https://www.nexusmods.com/kingdomcomedeliverance/mods/367 ) early on makes getting herbs and XP much, much better. Then I would reccommend using Increased Herb Gathering Radius.
Theoretically, however, you could counter this by also tweaking the xp earned per pick, via editing the line: <row rpg_param_key="HerbGatherXP" rpg_param_value="5" /> (... not sure of the default value, but I've seen some mods add this line right below the setting for "HerbGatherSkillToRadius" that this mod alters)
I can confirm this because I just tested it on a new save. With out the mod and painstakingly gathering everything UN-modded took hours, but I left with 18 in Herbalist and 4 in strength after taking leg day perk at 10 herbalist. With the mod at X10, I got to 8 in Herbalist and didn't even get to the perk to increase strength as you gathered 'Leg Day'. Also of note, I left with less coin from selling because you miss out on the perk that lets you sell herbs at a slightly higher value. Grate mod that make gathering less of a pain in the knee, but you do loose out on early exp if you.
with them i was earning normal skills, when i praise my dog it gives me exp from 22 -> 37... BUT then when i installed your mod praise no longer gives exp only obedience, food gives only 1 point.. commands doesn't give any at all...
I haven't updated the mod in quite a while so it is very likely that it doesn't work properly anymore. Currently it is pretty unlikely that I'll find time to do so.
I wonder if its possible to turn this into a perk. Itd make sense (atleast for the lower multipliers) to be able to upgrade into it. I think a x5 would be plenty of a bump, for like a final tier in the tree.
I was not able to get this mod working with the last few updates, but once I saw another mod that modified rpg_param.xml and was working in version 1.6 I was able to get this mod working again. The mod I used as a base was "Ceano's Realistic Bow Draw" (https://www.nexusmods.com/kingdomcomedeliverance/mods/569). I then modified the line given in the description of this mod:
I modified it to my desired radius (5x or a value of 1.25) and it works now. I modified the rpg_param.xml by extracting the .pak file in "Ceano's Realistic Bow Draw" using 7zip, opening the rpg_param.xml file using notepad++ and changing the line above. Then just open the .pak archive with 7zip instead of extracting, delete the old rpg_param.xml file and copy in the modified rpg_param.xml file, then close the archive. You can then copy the folder into your mods directory.
I just downloaded the game and this mod as well and its not working, and i only have this mod.... also mod merger says i do not have any mod installed at all... please help.
Hi! First of all make sure that your folder and .pak file are placed correctly: '\KingdomComeDeliverance\Mods\IncreasedHerbGatheringRadius\Data\IncreasedHerbGatheringRadius.pak' . You might have to create the 'Mods' folder manually.
Which version of the mod are you using? Just to be sure check if your folder and .pak file are placed correctly: '\KingdomComeDeliverance\Mods\IncreasedHerbGatheringRadius\Data\IncreasedHerbGatheringRadius.pak' .
I was using the x100. I used to do x10 but, I eventually said f*#@ it this still takes to long. Anyway, I also have 1.3.3 of the game. I own it on steam. I think I didn't install it right after see how you show it should be. I would extract in mods and take the mod out of the second mods folder and put it in the first mods folder. I''ll try it your way.
I have no idea how to check. If the other guy is right about the mod "stay cleaner longer" then it is conflicting then. other than that i have no idea if anything is conflicting with it.
Unless it's mentioned on the mod's page you'd have to go into each mod's folder, open the corresponding .pak file with WinRAR or some other file archiver and then check if it contains the 'rpg_param.xml' at '\Libs\Tables\rpg'. But if 'Stay Clean Longer' works as intended it is likely that you don't have any other mods active using the 'rpg_param.xml', since they wouldn't work either. If only 'Stay Clean Longer' is the problem you can follow the instructions outlined at Customisation and use the 'Stay Clean Longer' .pak file instead of 'Increased Herb Gathering Radius's (if other mods also rely on the 'rpg_param.xml' you'd have to incorporate all their changes in one single 'rpg_param.xml') . I've also linked the 'Mod Merger' in the description but since the developer behind it is busy at the moment it hasn't been updated to use the new mod structure. But if you are interested you can find some workarounds in it's discussion thread.
Edit: A different mod merger working with the latest KCD version has been released: https://www.nexusmods.com/kingdomcomedeliverance/mods/490 - might be worth a look.

This is just my personal opinion though.

game version 1.9.0
Currently it is pretty unlikely that I'll find time to do so.
Have you increased a few levels in Herbalism? Mine wasn't initially working but as I increased my skill it worked.
except for updates when a game patch breaks the mod I have stopped working on the mod.
Maybe suggest it to one of the perk mod authors.
Its a damned shame mod support is the last thing theyll work on, and theres no guarantee itll be good

Am I getting this right that it wasn't working due to a conflict or did the problem also occur when used on its own?

Are you using any other mods that edit the 'rpg_param.xml'?
