About this mod
Makes Pebbles, the free horse you'll get during the main quest, the best. He doesn't exceed the existing horses in any stat, but in any of the four stats he's the equal of the best horse for that stat. Basically as fast as Pegasus, as courageous as Kanthaka, etc.
Also does the same to Zora's dappled horse, and to Roach.

WHAT IT DOES
Makes Pebbles, the free horse you'll get during the main quest, the best. He doesn't exceed the existing horses in any stat, but in any of the four stats he's the equal of the best horse for that stat. Basically as fast as Pegasus, as courageous as Kanthaka, etc.
With the racehorse perk, no caparison or horse armour, and the best bridle, horseshoes and saddle, you're looking at a speed of 75-76. It gallops like a racing car, and can keep at it for quite a while. Or conversely you can go for the perk that gives you more carrying weight, and still have quite good speed.
Also does the same to Zora's dappled horse. And for all you Witcher fans, by request, Roach gets the same upgrade. (But also a heck of an upgrade in price, since the game calculates that based on the stats.)
Includes 4 different colours for Pebbles: the original grey, white, black and brown. Choose one when installing the mod.
Note that this is a cheat, but basically it's only transportation, so I don't feel particularly bad about it. It makes ONE quest a bit easier, but that's it. Other than that you won't be some unstoppable force just because you've got a good horse.
HOW TO GET IT
Just follow the main quest until they give you the horse.
Or if you've already got Pebbles, it will get an automatic upgrade when you next load the game.
OPTIONAL FILE
... is now obsolete. Please don't use the 1.01 optional file, or it will break your game. Roach is now upgraded by the main file.
HOW TO INSTALL IT
Find the directory where you installed the game. Find the directory "Mods" under it. If you don't have one (which you won't unless you installed other mods before) just make a directory named Mods.
Open the archive. There will be 4 directories in it, called Black, Brown, Grey and White. Go into the directory named after the colour you'd like Pebbles to be. There will be another directory named Pebbles_Is_The_Best in it. Unzip the Pebbles_Is_The_Best directory into your Mods directory.
HOW TO UNINSTALL IT
Delete the Pebbles_Is_The_Best directory from your Mods directory.
COMPATIBILITY
It modifies the souls.xml file, so any file that changes the same file WILL conflict, unless you use some form of merge tool or "ghetto loader". There's at least one right on this site. Though if you don't use mods that also modify the souls file, you won't need one.
Most notably, it WILL conflict with any other mod that changes the horses, even if it's different horses. But then since you already got the best horse here, you don't really need any other horse mods, do you?
