About this mod

A ReShade preset which adds a cold beautiful winter feel to the game.

Permissions and credits
After I've been messing with texture editing the other day for the first time with the intent of making a winter mod which unfortunately I wasn't very successful at because I am not experienced in texture modding, I instead went on to make a ReShade preset which will add a nice cold northern feel to the game with bright and blue clear star nights. Maybe someday there will be an actual winter mod for KCD and then I hope this preset will go along very well with it.

Installation
  • Download ReShade 3.1.1 here.
  • Run the .exe extracted from the .rar/.zip file just downloaded.
  • Click Select Game.
  • Navigate to and choose your game's .exe file which is located in your game directory; Kingdom Come Deliverance\Bin\Win64.
  • Select Direct3D 10+.
  • Click Yes to all and then ok.
  • Close the program.
  • Download my preset (If you haven't already).
  • Extract the content of the .rar/.zip file.
  • Copy the single file contained into your game directory; Kingdom Come Deliverance\Bin\Win64.
  • Start the game. If this will be your first time running the ReShade, it will show you some tutorials which you can just skip through to the end.
  • In-game hit SHIFT+F2, this will bring the ReShade window onto your screen.
  • At the Home tab, you will see a drop-down menu.
  • From that drop-down menu, find and choose "Spring ReShade".
  • Done!

Performance:
I'm running this game with an I7 6700KEVGA 980ti scSSD, and 16GB of DDR3 RAM. My FPS loss with this preset is around 20 FPS. I'm playing on all Ultra-High settings except shadows, those are medium. Average FPS is around 50-60, except when inside castles, but those are even without any ReShade always down in the 40's for me.

Version:
  • Northern Cold ReShade 1.0 (Original version of my preset with DOF)
  • Northern Cold ReShade NODOF 1.0 (Alternate version of my preset without DOF)

Recommended Mods:
First-Person-View by CryptLoad
(If you position yourself correctly this will fix the issue with your conversation partner being slightly blurred due to DOF in the cinematic camera)
