2) ALL THE CINEMATIC EFFECTS, from the letterboxing (black bars) to the DoF (blur) are toggleable with hotkeys I've already set up. No need for optional versions when I've already done the work to make the effects optional. Also, I already wrote super easy and quick instructions on how to increase or decrease DoF and Bloom and its lens effects/flares.
3) Regarding brightness: On my screen, which I calibrated using the built-in windows calibration tool that I believe everyone has on their computers, the brightness levels are good. They're more realistic than vanilla in many aspects, which, for me, was overly bright indoors and generally a little washed out. I darkened the colors more than I darkened the actual image space, but that's neither here nor there, because brightness is easily configurable in literally seconds using the instructions in the things-to-note section. If you don't see a section named this on the description page, it is because I will probably change the name of the section since no one seems to notice it.
4) It is unadvised to increase DoF higher, except for screenshot purposes, as I've already pushed it to the limit where it shouldn't affect cutscenes in a weird way with odd blurred-out splotchy parts. Decreasing it is fine, of course.
5) What are your specs? GTX 1060 6GB, Intel i7 6700 processor, 8GB Ram
6) What's your in-game settings? In general, everything on High, except textures, weather, and effects on Ultra high.
7) I don't have volumetric fog enabled. I hate volumetric fog in most games and so I probably won't test it, so any feedback you have on how this mod pairs with that is welcomed and appreciated. If there are issues using this with volumetric fog and enough people ask me about it, then I'll probably try it and make any necessary compatibility tweaks. My initial speculation on how it will interact with my reshade is that the fog will be oddly bright and likely produce odd lens flares, which I can probably fix if that's the case, but again, I have not tested it to know if that's the case or not.
8) I've recently found out thanks to troubleshooting on a different reshade that the TiltShift setting does not seem to scale properly across different hardware. It can cause, in the case I found, unholy levels of unintended blur, and I mean where literally half the screen is completely engulfed in impenetrable blur. I believe it has something to do with running the game in a different resolution than what the reshade was created on (I have a standard display and run at 1920x1080p). Suffice it to say, if you're reasonably sure you've installed everything correctly and gone through the steps in the Critical Instructions section, etc, etc., but are still getting otherworldly blur, open the in-game reshade menu and disable TiltShift, change the hotkey next to it to something you'll never press and change any value in the bottom half of the reshade, which saves the change. Please let me know if have any issues.
THANK YOU ALL FOR THE KIND WORDS OF SUPPORT! I think we're off to a good-enough start and I have nothing but thanks to you all for that. With so many great mods for this game already on the Nexus, I really appreciate you taking the time to check out mine.
Endorsements are super appreciated and subbing on my Youtube channel is extremely appreciated too! Plus, it's the easiest way to keep up-to-date with my upcoming work on this and other games. And, side-plug, I'm trying to grow my small channel.
Finally if you want to see all my released ReShades, they are here: https://www.facebook.com/MercsAssassin/ First post, stickied for easy access.
1) I'm caving. Getting so much feedback on the brightness, even if my monitor is calibrated right and everyone else's isn't (which is unlikely, I probably goofed on my calibration or something), the overwhelming consensus seems to be that this is too dark. The customer is always right, so I'll make it brighter by default.
2) I spent a ton of time getting the DoF not to interfere with cutscenes, and it seemed to be working according to plan at release, but in my own testing I now randomly seem to be getting odd DoF during cutscenes that were fine before. I've been tweaking a ton of other values in working on updates, but haven't changed my DoF itself, so hopefully it's just a problem I've created on my end, but please let me know if you're also getting odd DoF during cutscenes (like weird blotchy, seemingly out of place DoF).
3) I am working on a version of all three presets that won't interfere with the menu screens as much and shouldn't need to be disabled when just wanting to pop into inventory menu anymore. I can't make it perfect AND have all the effects enabled at once, but I can make it better.
4) It's a surprise. Keep checking back please. You'll know it when you see it ;)
5) Thanks so much again for all the support, you guys and girls are great! You've made this really worthwhile for me.
Idk, I don't use MagicBloom in my reshades so I'm not sure what the issues might be. What version of ReShade are you using? I'd stick with the 3.0 versions if you're using older shaders. You could get compile errors if you use 3.0 shaders with 4.0 frameworks and vice versa. Here's a link to all the reshade versions: https://www.mediafire.com/folder/8ar1jhh1809cl/ReShade_Repository
I was just curious if we can use the new 4.0 framework or if it is best to use the 3.4.1? I am about to install for the first time and thought I would ask... thanks.
Hey sorry for the delayed reply. I would stick with 3.4.1. You can find the old versions of ReShade here: https://www.mediafire.com/folder/8ar1jhh1809cl/ReShade_Repository
I'd love to try the mod, but it seems "Shift F2" doesn't do anything for me. The grey section shows up very briefly (there is some red text about an error and to open the GUI to fix it) then the screen goes black for a second and then the game continues to load. "Shift F2" does nothing in-game either. Did I miss a step somewhere?

Hey there, it's probably an incompatibility between my preset settings or shaders I use and the new ReShade 4.0 framework. Please try with the 3.4.1 version of the ReShade framework, which can be found here: https://www.mediafire.com/folder/8ar1jhh1809cl/ReShade_Repository#bow1ko4203njp
Please let me know if this solves the issue for you. Cheers!
By what ive seen so far, i really love this graphic mod, but even if i managed to install the shader and set the base parameters, i dont manage to get the darkness/blueish shade in the pics; Im also not sure what to do or where to place Your Ini files (blue in this case), I could use some help!
Amazing work, works fine for me in Full screen, and barely no FPS drop. 3840x2160 on 1080Ti, 4870K, 32GB, using base Very High Settings and Ultra on same parts as you. Endorsed and Voted.
Tis is an incredible reshade, and the customizable reshading interface is good to play with. I've fine tuned mine quite a bit. I run into a small problem. The UI is effected by the Shader, and it impacts gameplay. How can I set the UI on a different layer thats not rendered?
Unfortunately there's no real way to separate the UI from the rest of the game with ReShade. Unlike ENB, ReShade can't detect UI elements. There's a ReShade effect called UI mask, but I've never been able to make it work properly and have never seen anyone use it successfully. If you redownload the ReShade framewrok, you can leave the UI shaders checked at the bottom of the list of effects and play around with it, but it's not a very straightforward tool to use. You need to use external programs like photoshop to make it work.
I spend a huge chunk of my time trying to tune Depth-of-Field and chromatic aberration/lens distortion from destroying the UI in games :D
Another excellent "Photorealistic"/Cinematic style Preset, the truth that you have a gift for the Presets of this style, it seems that the PC will explode with the graphic power that generates xD
Holy s#*! dude, thank you! I definitely had to spend about an hour setting up and adjusting settings to my liking (mainly tiltshift, bloom and lens flares, saturation and brightness, border and vignette), but it looks great and setup was fairly easy. The only problem it's causing me is lens flares off my white horse's ears but I'm gonna get a black horse mod to try and fix that. Oh and it rips about 15 fps avg so I may have to turn down some settings or use a 1080p monitor instead of my 1440p. But seriously, thanks for putting in the work
Makes it more like a move, which i prefer. I just can't get into the same headspace without it, many folks have the same "issue," if you will. I'll eventually release a version that maintains the same lens distortion effects and vignette without the black bars, just need a day or two.
You're welcome :) I was looking for a stylised config, that wasn't over the top fantasy flavored, and saturated. Your config totally fits the bill, and really adds to the dark storyline. Thanks :)
